Scene V: The Mayor's House

The Bean Bunch arrive at the mayor's house on their bicycles and survey the grounds from the west, looking eastward.
It's still the finest house in Palace, but the residence has seen better days, and appears to have been damaged from the fire, though some attempt has been made to put this out, suggesting occupancy...
You were here just days ago, where you managed to steal $60 of the mayor's personal effects, so you have a rough layout of the ground floor of the house.
On the outside of the building, there are three smaller structures.
The nearest, not far from your position (to the west of the house), is the outhouse; the latrine. A small wooden hut, just big enough for one man to sit and do his business. This appears wholly undamaged by the blaze.
On the northern side of the house is the mayor's private stables. These seem to have completely collapsed; little more than a pile of smouldering wood.
To the south-east of the house is a smaller hut which you assume must be servants lodgings.
The house itself has two floors, with a veranda (with steps leading up to the front door) and a balcony above this, on the south side. The main entrance has suffered the most from fire damage.
There's a stone chimney stack on the west side of the house, which you know leads into the mayor's sitting room, where you stole most of his goods from last time.
On the north side of the house, broken bay windows lead into the drawing room. Just east of that, a rear entrance (on the north wall) leads into the kitchen.
On the house's eastern side, there's a conservatory. You can't see it from this side, but you know it is there.
West of the conservatory, and east of the entrance hall, you know is the dining room. A staircase, near this, leads up to the second floor...but you didn't make it that far last time, before you were spotted and scarpered.
