Funny moments on Preys world

Post by Can't think of one » Thu Jan 17, 2019 11:07 pm

Bit of a random topic but at work, a couple of colleagues were talking about controversial comedians and one of them mentioned Bernard Manning and just out of nowhere I remembered someone on Preys World started a RIP Bernard Manning topic and the first reply was "Hooray!" I spat out my drink when I read that   . There's probably a load more funny moments but I just can't remember them at the moment. Can you recall something memorable that made you laugh out loud on Preys World?

There were moments in our D&D campaign where I had tears literally streaming down my face. Great laugh.

:)

Which reminds me - I'll try and rouse the troops today to work out if people are still interested and when we can start.

There was this one time that the owner said he was shutting the site down. I laughed. Then I cried a little.

It was the fourth time after that which probably hit me the hardest... ¬_¬

I assure you that the last time he did it wasn't especially funny for me. -_-

The dramatic reading of Eran's night in prison is always funny to remember. Doug did a reading of Tank and Crowley having an argument too which was just as hilarious.

Yes those were fun, I think I have them somewhere actually....

I remember when the CoD demo came out.....CoD 1, and we absolutely played it to death.

The Raven Shield days, where Neb and Me would try to get up in the prison tower to give sniper cover....one would throw up a nade to clear it, the other climbed the ladder under cover......but once Neb threw one up.....and it came straight back down and wiped us all out....

Then the far Cry days....oh the travels, outside the map, just trundling along in a jeep....

The Borderlands and Dead Island co-op sessions were always a lot of fun. I remember the FarCry stuff well.

The first tour of Second Life's seedier areas we went on.

I haven't laughed so hard since. I wish I still had the screenshots.

There were a lot of fun and funny moments on PW, but it is always the way that when you try to recall them (or is that just me getting on a bit...?)

Haha I was one of the casualties! I loved those RS sessions.

Also worthy of note were the GRAW 1 and 2 sessions we had. The netcode, indeed the coding overall in the game was an absolute train wreck, and it was an exercise in frustration with endless disconnects and crashes for all concerned, but in between those the game-time was just sublime. PREY still has videos from those nights on his YouTube channel that I re-watch from time to time and always enjoy.

I did a lot of co-op with Dave over the years - GRAW, Test Drive Unlimited, Mercs 2, up to Ghost Recon Wildlands most recently, and always had a blast. Being Dave, there was usually a technical gremlin or three to overcome to get the game going, but it was worth the effort!

Ah yes. I was both the leader and driver of those expeditions, having been the one to discover the hole in the map.
Between tedium and fright
Such is the song of the nether world
The hissing of rats
And the jarring chants of angels
