The Absolute State Of It - It's The UK Politics Thread!
Re: The Elephant in the Room - Brexit
I find it hard to believe that despite everything Johnson has said and done there are still people out there who think he's trustworthy enough to vote for.
Re: The Elephant in the Room - Brexit
The only thing that stops me from thinking that most of our country are insane idiots is the fact that the Tories have most of the media on their side, and they've successfully cultivated this image of Corbyn being an irresponsible terrorist while glossing over their own image of a party whose policies are probably responsible for thousands of deaths in the last ten years. It astounds me that anyone (that isn't relatively wealthy) would willingly vote for a party that has reduced public services to the point that they're at now. Turkeys voting for Christmas doesn't begin to cover it.

Somewhere, Ken Livingstone is invoking Godwin's Law on the whole fridge-hiding thing for about the 30th fucking time this week.

Exit poll looks drastic.....although it never aligns to reality once results are in, but looks emphatic at the moment...

Either way, I despair...I suppose the public are just fed up with the messing about and just want to eat the shit pie and be done with it...

Not surprised, but dismayed. There’s nothing left to hope for or strive towards in British politics.
The best thing is that I’ve got two simultaneous nights of Christmas dos full of people who’ll tell me how this was all Corbyn’s fault and how actually it’ll be good to get Brexit done.](./images/smilies/eusa_wall.gif)

I sacked off tonight's team meal because this week's been such that I may have ended up strangling our line manager. I felt bad though because one teammate is on maternity leave, which she went on early while I was on leave so I haven't seen her off properly.Wrathbone wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 11:02 pmNot surprised, but dismayed. Bollocks.
Re: The Elephant in the Room - Brexit
Fuck sake.
I'm 40 years old, and have never 'won' an election... not once has the person, party or referendum decision I've voted for succeeded, at either local or national level.
Democracy, I guess.
I don't know why I still fucking bother.

The one saving grace in this for me is that Labour's Cat Smith has held her seat here in Lancaster. She's a good egg.
