Well this is mildly alarming.

Bad actor or has someone tripped over a very important cable somewhere?

So leave your PCs off, all the windows machines in my work are stuck in a recovery boot loop ending in a bsod pagefault. They initially rebooted themselves from an on state too.

Also all windows 10 machines.

Does your work use Crowdstrike antivirus? Seems like a lot of angry fingers are pointing at that.

I’d be surprised if they have anything not built into windows. Also probably way behind on updates too.

Apparently you can go into safe mode and delete C-00000291*.sys to fix it but I’m not telling work because I get tomorrow off if they can’t fix it :-"

Everywhere that uses Crowdstrike it seems, though I can't find anywhere stating that it's affected Russia or China. It's likely the business doesn't operate there, as Crowdstrike were the first to uncover evidence of Russian meddling in the 2016 US election. Doesn't seem it's anything nefarious either, as Crowdstrike have admitted it was their fault. Just a gargantuan cockup.

So work had one PC that was off at the time so we’re working off that. The rest are locked up and nobody knows the admin password so we can’t fix them

Welcome back!

Reminds me of another story about UK currency (the pre-plastic) which said that 90% of UK banknotes had traces of cocaine and/or blood on them from being stuffed up Charlie-snorters wrecked hooters.

I'm not surprised, the wax museum in Dublin is notorious for its hilariously shit exhibits.

So following a vigil for the appalling murder of three children doing nothing more than attending a dance class on Monday, an apparently racist-minded mob took it upon themselves to wreck a mosque and damage local businesses, because that's apparently what rumours on social media do to people these days. One Massive Hero decided to antagonise a police riot-control team who were shielding themselves against an onslaught of rocks. I'm assuming this Legend, this Pillar of the Community, is blaming Muslim extremists for the inevitable result.

I've had a pretty rough morning (so has he, I assume) and that clip has restored some level of faith in the universe.
