I shall use my omen then I think!
You succeed!

The Rotten Nurse, having failed to break the mind of ANY of the party, begins shrieking in frustration! She stumbles away back whence she came, crying and shaking.

Then there is silence, and all returns to how it was before the nurse arrived.

Grin and Malaiz are still in the circular chamber. Lord Margar, Giant Dances the Sea, Prügl and Fechr are in the northern corridor.

Anyone want to pull the cat off me and maybe heal me?

With a long, clammy finger, Giant prods Malaiz's eyeball back into its socket.

Despite the blood curdling screaming, Malaiz appreciates the effort.

Did Grin forget to twat the decaying bint with his crook? Damn it all, he was sure that was the plan. Grin stomps off after the undead nursie to bop some sense into her.

Through the medium of pantomime, Giant indicates to Grin that the nurse seemingly can't be harmed physically, and that now she's sodded off it might be worth continuing in the direction she recently vacated (that being north).

Grin glares at Giant, and says "He's behind you!"

I'll recover my torch and agree that North seems like the best choice.

With several of the party having entered the dimly-lit chamber at the far end of the northern corridor, this is what you see:

Image

  • The room curves around the outside of the central chamber.
  • At the eastern-most end is a wooden door.
  • Near this is a bookshelf with a couple of items sitting on it.
  • At the western-most end of the chamber, a STRANGE GLUEY FILM is stretched across the room, from wall to wall and floor to ceiling, blocking all further access westward. It is semi-translucent, and in the light of the nearby torch (on the northern-most wall) you can see the room continues beyond it, but only for a short distance before all is swallowed up by darkness.
  • A metal door with a grating in the top (from which pours fourth smoke) and an inverted crucifix painted beneath it, sits in the southern wall of the chamber, to the west of the access corridor.

Increasingly paranoid (and now terrified at the prospect of losing my one remaining eye), I'd like to check for traps - particularly around the bookcase.

You cautiously approach the bookcase, holding your torch aloft to keep out an eye for any potential traps.

You see none.

As for what is on the bookcase, roll me a d100.

On the bookshelf are:
  • A fishing rod with a rusty hook.
  • A black powder bomb!
    • Worth 50 silver, it deals 3d4 damage, but every 1 rolled causes another d4 to be rolled and the damage added.
