Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange
On a slightly different note, the 2026 World Cup is being hosted by Mexico, USA and Canada. How's that going to work out now?
Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange
Right, so Trump's plan for the Israel - Gaza situation is:
1. Conquer Gaza.
2. Remove all of the Palestinians.
3. Turn it into what sounds an awful lot like a holiday resort.
4. ...
5. Peace in the entire Middle East!

He even mentions how you have to listen to history so as not to repeat it. Apparently the lesson he took from history is that there weren't enough deck chairs?

Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange
Isn't that literally ethnic cleansing?
Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange
It certainly sounds like at least the first part, he's not clear whether he'd allow the Palestinians back.
Part of me assumes that this is Trump just doing his strongman nonsense, that he's just wanting to start his "negotiation" from a position of "I will end you", but it's genuinely difficult to tell. I don't feel as though he's willing to commit American forces to anything the US won't profit from, and unless he's going to rename the West Bank "Port America" and cover it in Starbucks and McDonalds, what is there to gain here? He's walked back his tariffs on Mexico and Canada because they "capitulated", so is he just trying to get Hamas around the negotiating table?
I'm not going to pretend to even have a clue what the correct course of action is here, but something I've thought about a few times regarding Ukraine is just how in the hell you rebuild a heavily developed country that's been bombed almost into oblivion. The UN claims 70% of the region's buildings have been destroyed, as well as roughly the same percentage of its road network. Surely just clearing the rubble would take a decade. Israel is currently claiming a significant portion of the land that was less urbanised, so where do you house the million or more people that have no home to return to? It's not like the West Bank has a ton of land to spare.

Netenyahu has long had a plan for "a second Dubai"...this is it, what's a few million people in the way when there is money to be made eh?......remember Kushner and his 2 billion? Looks like the TOC wins again.
We have 1984 peeps. The US will be repeated here when the fascist mirage gets installed, if it happens say goodbye to oversight, objective information or accountability. Those who control the Blockchain will control the foodchain.

Remember Palantir? Thiel has all our medical data, just waiting to be exploited...when the climate is favourable...along with all the other data he has infected. The digital age will become the cage.

Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange
The most astonishing thing about this to me is that China, Russia, Saudia Arabia and Turkey all concur with the many western states that have spoken out today, reiterating either that Palestinians must be allowed to remain in Gaza or that they support a two-state solution. I can't think of any other political topic on which there'd be that level of international agreement.
I note that most of these nations had no problem with Gaza being levelled to the ground, though. The lines we collectively choose not to cross are strange.

To be clear when I say this, I don't mean looks, obviously it's easy to pick on that.
But I was a teen in the 80's watching Spitting Image and some of the mad shit they had Reagan spouting doesn't hold a candle to the stuff Trump is coming up with on a daily basis.
Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange
I have been wary of conspiracy theories regarding the election, but with so many co-incidences and evidence amalgamating, it is seeming more and more that there is a reasonable doubt about the "election win", especially with what has recently been revealed about one of fElon's hacker boy team re: election tampering competitions etc.
Greg Palast is an evidence based investigative reporter that has done quite a lot of digging into this too.
Regardless, even if true, what can be done about it?

Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange
I think it’s more likely that he won because Biden stayed too long, Harris had minimal charisma and Trump got shot at (plus America is increasingly a lunatic populace).
That said, the BallotProof stuff is skeezy as hell, and if I understand this right the US has ballot machines which store vote data locally and can be accessed by USB or wifi, which seems laughably below acceptable security standards in this day and age. But let’s say the conspiracy was real - that would mean on the USB-only machines that they’d need someone to plug a stick with rootkit that installs BallotProof on each of them, which surely requires a vast number of conspirators who would have to go unnoticed. Seems like someone would have noticed the guy interfering with every machine.

Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange
I think the bump was with early vote tabulation, that is where the big anomalies lie, they had ways that interfere with ballot rejection, but Greg's research seems more plausible: 3 1/2 million voters disenfranchised through mass challenges and outright registration purge, so many states had legislation introduced that removed voters ability, some couldn't re-register or didn't even find out their vote wouldn't count. The constitution does not mention a right to vote! It is left to the states, there have been bills, but the GOP has hindered them and here we are.
The GOP is all in now, these miscreants are so exposed to guilt they have to cement dictatorship/technocracy/theonomy...

Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange
Not to mention the dems in general are idiots too afraid to say yeah, a newly (or any) transitioned woman should not compete against women in physical contests or move on immigration before the 11th hour, or even point out their wins or even point out how good they landed economically vs every other western country. They are petrified of the online idiots with zero common sense that have given folk on the left with a brain a bad name. So many of trumps attacks could have been parried with balls and common sense.
A man who could tell more truth and eat fewer pies.
Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange
Yep, agreed, Dems are too decent expecting that to be returned from the other side. The leadership is also far too comfortable, so doesn't force issue with a lot of things, they had four years and did nothing to stabilise vote registration. Dems also tend to be somewhat neurotic and supersensitive, which makes the GOPs job of denigrating them easier with their base. What a mess.
This is worth a watch to illustrate what Pallast is on about, some of it is breathtaking. Directed by Martin Sheen and free to watch thanks to Leonardo Di Caprio and Jamie Foxx funding it's release:

The Department of Education might be getting shut down as well. When people are too dumb to understand they're getting fucked it's so much easier I guess.
Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange
I haven't read much into the news these last few days, but the BBC posted this thumbnail for a video which I found quite funny. I just can't see anything but a small child giving his first school presentation in front of the class about why he thinks America is the bestest. I really hope Trump himself chose that massive chair and visual aide, because he looks so tiny and unimposing.
