A friend of mine has recently taken up beekeeping and he's given me a jar of honey from his first batch. It's absolutely delicious, blows all mass-produced honey I've ever had out of the water. Going to have to watch that I don't turn into Xi Jinping.

The uni's environmental sciences department has an apiary, and they sell pots of the honey it produces - I bought one last year. It's delicious, but you do have to reclassify most supermarket stuff as "honey-flavoured" afterwards.

My work has beehives in the garden; they started with two, back in 2014, but now there's a dozen at least. They sell the honey in a gift shop inside. I've never bought any before, but I'm starting to think I should give it a try.

My brother in law keeps bees and I enjoy their honey. As they are very local to where I live they also help with keeping my hay-fever under control during tree-pollen season.

It may be rarer than flying pigs, but for once I have some praise for Amazon's customer service. I'm in a Secret Santa Christmas jumper thing for a barcrawl this weekend and my victim has had to bail on it (for a valid reason). He offered to pay for the jumper I'd got him, but I didn't want to be a dick about it so I said no. It was £31.99, though, so I went to Amazon to try and get a refund, except it was out of the returns window.

I got on a chat with an agent (not sure if it was human or AI), not expecting anything but I thought it was worth asking. After a few minutes they came back to offer a full refund with no need to return the item. :o Given that I normally have to argue with them if they cock up an order, I'm astounded. First round's on me this weekend!

I've made friends with a beautiful fox who lives at the bottom of the garden.

Today was the first morning he has actually sat out just chilling in full view so I took a hasty photo to share - he's normally tucked away safely towards the back where the fence is which is spacing of a good few feet inside the windbreaks he's made his current home.

Does anyone know of what kinds of safe food variants I should be putting out to see him safely through the winter? We've been buying dog food, but thinking of if there's anything else besides or should we just stick with that?

We've nicknamed him 'Red' of course.

Had a family of foxes in the garden in a place I lived a few years ago. The cubs used to play in the garden in broad daylight which was nothing short of magical. I'd feed them cooked chicken without any sauce or spices etc on it. If he seems to be doing ok I'd avoid feeding him at all to be honest.

Understood, I've put food out twice so far quite some time apart as he normally just comes out and wanders around the garden and we don't see him again for a while. I'll do as you say as he does seem extremely healthy looking, many thanks for the reply.
