20.
9,2,9 if the individual dice matter.
How did I end up on only +3 and +2 on presence and toughness? I thought my only negative stat was agility.

Re: MÖRK BORG: Chapter II: The Greed Lineage
Your ability stats all increased by +1, bar Agility (which decreased), as each roll was numerically higher than your previous stat. Because your Agility was lower, your Agility decreased by -1 to 0.
As for the others:
Lord Margar is:
HP: 9
Strength: +5
Agility: +4
Presence: -1
Toughness: +0
Margar is a freaking tiger!
Giant Dances the Sea is:
HP: 9
Strength: +2
Agility: +1
Presence: +3
Toughness: +0

Lord Margar, could you also roll 3d10 (only the total matters) to find what shiny thing you discover in the cell?
Giant Dances the Sea finds nothing.

Thanks! Just waiting for Malaiz to roll his 6d6, then we'll be good to continue the narrative.

What was your original roll? 6, 6, 6, 6, 6?Animalmother wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2025 3:25 pmI rolled 6 times earlier and got ridiculous numbers so I did it again and still looks like I cheating!!
4 2 4 2 6 3

If you still have a record of it, it's fine to post it: I trust you're not cheating.
Malaiz is now:
HP: 8
Strength: +2
Agility: +4
Presence: +3
Toughness: +3
He finds nothing shiny.
I'll write up the narrative proper in a little bit.

Re: MÖRK BORG: Chapter II: The Greed Lineage
Back to the narrative:
The cell is completely dark, damp and cold. All day, every day, the party sees nothing but darkness for hours on end. The only light they have seen over the course of a month are from the nightly visits of Wemut the warden, when he brings an oil-lamp to light his way to the party's cell, carrying his rancid bucket of slop.
From the thirty-odd visits he's made, the party have managed to see roughly what the area they're in looks like:

The corpse who shares the party's cell, slowly rotting away, day by day, is utterly disgusting; it is riddled with wriggling worms; their endless singing keeps Lord Margar awake at night, though the others do not hear their chorus. They do hear the scurrying and squeaking of rats though, and the perpetual stench of the decaying flesh makes it hard to keep Giant-Dances-the-Sea's miracle food in their stomachs.
All that said: the party has not been afraid to pick the body clean of whatever useful loot it may have sequestered within in its clothing. Surprisingly, the jailors apparently failed to notice a significant amount of silver coins sewn inside hidden pockets. Fechr has been able to recover twenty of them. Lord Margar twelve. Giant Dances the Sea found a slip of parchment, folded, in another pocket. Alas, in the darkness, no-one has been able to read what it says: not that GDTS can read anyway.
Today, though, something extraordinary happened.
As Wemut was making his usual delivery, leering at you through the bars of your cell with his hateful grin, a distant bell began to toll.
DONG. DONG. DONG. DONG. DONG. DONG. DONG.
Wemut, surprised, turned his head down the hallway to his left (westward) as hurried footsteps accompanied the ringing of the bell. A trembling voice called out in the dark, apparently just around the corner from the cell.
VOICE:
"Warden, sir!"
WEMUT:
"Why does the bell ring?!"
VOICE:
"It's the old Risten Lords, sir! They're...they're back!"
WEMUT:
"What?!"
VOICE:
"Yes! From the castle cemetery! Their flesh is rotting but they walk all the same! They've got the place surrounded! They're tying to get inside! We have to get out!"
The footsteps dash away.
WEMUT:
<to himself>
"Damn it! Damn! It's the Baron's fault. So bloody weak! Doesn't stand up to the King. Losing more of his estate, year by year. No heirs to carry on his name...not since his son disappeared. The dead...they know what's coming; his ancestors think they can rule better than he. Maybe they can. They're coming to prove it. It must be Verhu's will. So this is the end...this is the end."
He snaps out of his thoughts and looks at the party through the cell door, his flabby, hairy face warping into a sneer.
WEMUT:
"But I'm not ready to go. Not alone. Not without souls to be my slaves in the underworld! You lot. You look like you'd serve me well. Can't imagine you'd be strong enough to fight back after a month of this slop..."
The warden puts down the bucket and draws a sharp dagger from his belt, then takes an iron key from a ring, also dangling from his belt, and unlocks the door.
The party have the initiative! What does everyone do?!
