He doesn't have to be overly intelligent, he's just lucky enough to have the riches to be able to pay the best people. Obviously he'll take the credit for it all but I'd be genuinely interested to see just how much of it he actually had solid design input into from day one.

He's behind it as financial backer or owner, not as an engineer. The only product I can honestly believe Musk had a hand in designing is the Cybertruck, and that's a complete mess compared to the company's other vehicles.

Musk simply bankrolls his companies with money he obtained from owning PayPal, which incidentally he bought with money given to him from his daddy's slave mining operations.

One look at the guys deluded outbursts on his social media platform tells you he's an absolute bloody idiot. And a dangerous one at that.

I know a few people the US via a Liverpool supporters' chat group, and they've been updating over the past few days on what's happening over there. It's fucking dystopian.

One of them, who works as a head of department in academia, just got a memo informing them all grants (including those they'd already been awarded and which are in the process of being spent) are being frozen, and in the memo one of the reasons it cites is "DEI and woke gender ideologies". I'll link to it, it's an official thing from the US Treasury.

Another is a doctor and says the healthcare system has just been crippled by another lot of funding stuff, while a third, who works in the US but isn't a US citizen, just got told to leave their job.

Scary stuff.

Not sure how accurate this is, but I saw something suggesting only 20% of food pickers are turning up to work now in the US because they're afraid they'll be caught and deported. If that's remotely true, it could quickly lead to a food supply crisis.
