I think Lord Margar gave you Wemut's keyring to try and complete your 'Wemut disguise', somewhat ruined by your holding a torch made from a charred human arm bone instead of the oil lantern he once carried

In any case, Malaiz searches through Wemut's keys until he finds one which fits and unlocks the iron gate.

With sullen reluctance

Giant will slink through the now-open cell door, go to the next corner and peer around once again to get the lay of the land.

As he passes Malaiz, sensing his sadness, he will also proffer Precious so the dove can provide its comforting wisdom to hopefully raise the hermit's spirits.

Malaiz's lips go from a sullen pout to a surprised uhhh when he's handed Precious. He holds it up to his ear and nods intently, much to Giant's delight.

[Sly Boots]

Giant's alien mouth-parts produce a ghastly approximation of a smile. Delighted, he snatches Precious back and capers up the northern hallway.

Once through the gate, and having let Malaiz hold Precious for a brief moment, Giant Dances the Sea turns the corner to the west and finds another door awaiting them, opening to the south:

Giant will beckon for his companions to follow.

He'll invstigate the door again, peek through any keyholes and/or press his ear against it to try to hear anything in the room beyond.

GDTS hears nothing. Nor is there any keyhole.

Giant will open the door as stealthily as possible to see what's inside.

I'll stealthily sidle up behind Giant.

Malaiz follows behind thugging on the rear of his borrowed pants in a vain attempt to stop them rubbing on his backside.

Opening the door, the party finds a storage room. Dusty shelves and barrels lie undisturbed therein, but, most prominently of all, sits a very large storage chest placed against the far wall.
