I’ll hold back until everyone’s decided what they’re doing.

I hold the bomb close to it and whisper:
“You see this? I just picked it up off that shelf over there. I don’t even know if it’s going to work. But I’m choosing to use it before I use you, the fabled magic sword that’s been in my family for generations untold. Let that sink in.”

Grin is always partial to a delicious fungus and scarfs down a 'shroom.
Assuming 5d6 are required, I scored: 4,6,4,3,2
Grin sneaks (clanking in his plate armour that he has forgotten is noisy) behind Fechr and Lord Margar, crook at the ready, in case these mud guzzling pissmasters require any spiritual interventions.

I shall also consume the delicious found fungus.
5,3,2,5,3
Fechr will ready his battle axe to charge in after the bomb has gone off in case anything survives the blast.

Summoning up what remains of your cognitive abilities (following Prügl's mind-and-body-altering music), you successfully read the manuscript without becoming confused.Animalmother wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 5:45 pm15
The manifesto speaks about a plot to dethrone King Fathmu IX.
It says that while it is commonly believed by the denizens of Wästland that King Fathmu's father, High King Lorter VI, was assassinated by poison-priests from the island-kingdom of Südglans, resulting in a short but devastating war of reprisal, which caused the island state to sink beneath the waves, the TRUTH of the matter is very different.
In reality, High King Lorter VI and his court fled the city of Schleswig after royal spies uncovered blasphemous rites he was engaged in within the citadel. Now he hides somewhere in Targ-Dungel — the boglands to the south of here — near the fishing village of Traurish.
A group of noblemen, says the manifesto, who call themselves The Scions of Schleswig (of which this deceased corpse was presumably a member) are still secretly loyal to High King Lorter VI. They have travelled to Targ-Dungel aboard a floating fortress, searching for the lost King Lorter, in order to restore him to the throne of Schleswig, for as he is still alive, he is still thus Wästland's true ruler. Returning Lorter to Schleswig would ensure a civil war in the kingdom, but could dethrone the petulant upstart Fathmu IX, and bring an end to his tyranny.
Futhermore, the manifesto reveals the most shocking truth of all: as Lorter was not assassinated after all, the kingdom of Südglans was invaded merely to justify the succession of Fathmu IX, the High King’s son. Thousands dead in a war that never needed to happen.
DEATH TO THE TYRANT FATHMU! HAIL HIGH KING LORTER!
And that is the gist of it.
Malaiz, swallowing the mushroom, immediately feels its effects.Animalmother wrote:As for my mushroom eating....

Re: MÖRK BORG: Chapter I: Nurse the Rot
So, here's the current situation:
Most of the party is gathered behind Lord Margar in the room to the north-east where the purple-skinned corpse was found (along with one hundred silver coins, now owned by Fechr, a dagger and a 'mad manifesto' detailing a plot to dethrone the King, now owned by Malaiz).
They're waiting by an open archway, preparing to assault a group of five skinny, horned, jet-black-skinned, clawed, fanged, and barb-tailed humanoids who are eating mud and pissing into the holes over the access tunnel in the south-eastern quarter. All five creatures are armed with knives.
We do not know where Prügl is, and Giant Dances the Sea seems to be holding back, concerned that they should be investigating the hole in the ground to the north-west.
Lord Margar is being verbally abused by his sword (which no-one else can hear), while holding a black powder bomb. Those who wait with him are ready for him to make the first move...

Sensing the atmosphere of impending violence to the east, Giant will scamper over to the rest of the party and huddle behind the surprisingly buff Malaiz.
