MÖRK BORG: Chapter II: The Greed Lineage

Lord Margar runs and drop-kicks the door. The boards holding it shut against the wind splinter and crack, tearing it loose from its moorings.

Unfortunately the winds outside are so strong the door blows inwards and will land right on top of Lord Margar, unless he performs an Agility test to get out of the way!

It's d20 + 4, but -2 because of the chainmail, so essentially d20+2

Following his drop-kick, Margar leaps back just as the door blasts open with a strong gust of wind and falls flat on the floor with a loud THUD where he was but a moment ago.

The torches in the hallway sputter with the strength of the freezing gale that howls through the aperture. From Lord Margar's position in the hallway, he and Giant Dances the Sea see nothing through the doorway but open, cloud-blanketed sky and the falling of snowflakes.

Just as the two of you set off to explore the doorway opposite the barracks, you hear a low moaning (and not the pleasurable sort) coming from the open doorway that leads outside.

Giant and Precious have some serious Thoughts about certain recent actions, but opt to keep them to themselves.

"...Hello?" I mutter at the doorway?

Peering through the doorway, Lord Margar realises that Castle Risten is nestled upon the furthest edge of a high promontory of rock, overhanging a valley far, far below.

A rickety ledge runs from the doorway, alongside the castle's eastern wall, towards the north.



Peeping out through the doorway, Lord Margar sees a line of undead — four in total — shuffling along the rickety walkway toward the open door!

Three carry swords. One carries a spiked club!

I'll relay this to the party, then attempt to bottleneck them at the doorway, fending them off with the Staff.

(Mechanically I'm not sure if I'd be better using the sword, but a spear-staff seems like a more suitable defensive weapon.)

Giant shakes his head at his master's folly, and continue to apply Door Protocal Alpha to the right-northern double doors.

Precious informs Giant Dances the Sea that all is quiet on the other side of those double doors.


Meanwhile, the first of the undead shambles its way along the wooden scaffold to Lord Margar's position at the cliffside door!

I'll relay this to the party, then attempt to bottleneck them at the doorway, fending them off with the Staff.

Both do the same amount of damage: d6, but it makes more sense to use the Staff, as it's a two-handed weapon with no way of carrying without using your hands, whereas the sword can be hung from the scabbard on your belt.

The first of the undead reaches the doorway! It swings a spiked club at Lord Margar! Test Agility to parry this blow, Margar! d20 + 2

18 + 2 = 20!

I swear my dice luck is overdue to expire.

Lord Margar parries the blow with the Staff and may strike back if desired!

The other undead can't reach as there's really only room for one person at a time on this walkway.
