The Covid-19 Thread
Re: The Covid-19 Thread
I think it's safe to say at this point that the lockdown is well and truly over. Nobody gives a toss anymore. The government messaging has been so wishy washy, combined with Cummings and other Tory MPs making the news for not following the rules; I think people are largely just getting on with their lives again and Covid is becoming a second thought.
I imagine it'll be chaos next week when regular shops start opening up again.

Re: The Covid-19 Thread
Honestly I'm not convinced I actually have it, everything that's happening is largely precautionary. All I know is that I suddenly have shedloads of time to pore over PC component reviews and comparisons, so I'll almost certainly have a new PC by the end of the 14 days. ¬_¬
And on the lockdown being considered over; yeah, that's the impression I get from working with the public. Supposedly the R in my area is over the 1 threshold, but the town centre is still busy and I've been serving people coming in for minor things. There's been no clear guidance for just about all of the businesses I've spoken with (including hairdressers and schools). Our government's handling of this has been almost farcical.

All the business will add social distancing measures but no one gives a shit anymore and if the death toll is below 300 everyday, that number is simply not big enough for anyone to care
I am planning for the inevitable ear ache from the Mrs on why I cancelled the summer holiday to Portugal when people are now planning to go. Simples answer from me: if you wanna go - go - but if I get sick I want to get sick here at home instead of some poxy holiday resort and besides my lungs are for shit

All the businesses will put half-arsed distancing measures in place, and most of the cunts shopping will absolutely disregard all of it.
My nearest little food shop has a one-way system – ignored. There's tape on the floor demarcating the 2m blocks that should only have one person in at a time – ignored. I've seen folk walk the wrong way down an aisle past someone else close enough to touch! Arseholes, every last one of them.

Honestly I'm delighted my usual supermarket doesn't have a one-way system imposed. If it did, it'd take me 45 minutes to get around because people browse so sodding slowly (I don't understand why people want to be in there for so long) and you can't just choose another route around them, whereas I can get around the current layout in fewer than 10.

Well, that's some positive (eh? eh?) news at least!

Re: The Covid-19 Thread
its funny in my Tesco there is a one way system which I try to adhere to but even I break it for about 50% of my time, and so does everyone else
Its interesting to see a middle aged lady tut tut as some one goes the wrong way. In their defence most of the time I am in Tesco I am either thinking about what I need to get or sex out of pure boredom. Looking at arrows on the floor is kind of forgotten.

The vegetable aisle alone is a hotbed of eroticism. Who can follow arrows when those Tesco sluts are teasing us all with their ripe parsnips and juicy plums.

Re: The Covid-19 Thread
Just had to go to the doctor’s (nothing serious), which is the first time in 12 weeks I’ve gone further than the corner shop 2 minutes from my house. It was an eye-opener - if there’s a lockdown, you wouldn’t know it from walking about the streets. The only noticeable difference from 12 weeks ago was the huge amount of roadworks.
Also the first time I’ve had to wear a mask for any substantial time. Christ, they’re horrible! I don’t envy anyone who has to wear them all day.

Re: The Covid-19 Thread
We've been using disposable masks at work for about 3 weeks now (it took until then for the company to actually source them), and yeah, we all hate them. I can't see properly when wearing them because my glasses steam up, so much so that it's actually better just to take the glasses off (I can see largely fine without them).
Re: The Covid-19 Thread
My mum made my mask and sent it to me - thankfully it’s not too bad with the steaming due to the design but the whole thing does get hot and swampy very fast. On the plus side, it looks like a ninja mask. I felt like I should have naruto-ran home.

Re: The Covid-19 Thread
Sadly because people are ignoring the alleged lockdown, there are far too many people out to judge you if you Naruto run in public.
