I have a special loathing for the John Lewis Christmas adverts. They’re determined to turn the one time of year that at least some of us can still find unequivocally happy into a simpering, grimdark lamentation masked as being “heartwarming”. They can fuck well and truly off.

Having watched the new All Quiet on the Western Front that Christmas Truce one is fucking egregious now.
