D&D Interlude: The Vault of the Lady Fortune
Re: D&D Interlude: The Vault of the Lady Fortune
So, 7 until 10 appropriate for everyone?
Re: D&D Interlude: The Vault of the Lady Fortune
Sure, that sounds fine for me

Re: D&D Interlude: The Vault of the Lady Fortune
Sure, although now I feel a bit bad that we had a session without Bird when he was available two days later.
Re: D&D Interlude: The Vault of the Lady Fortune
Enjoyed that tonight. I'm still getting used to being a melee character after several years of playing a bow-wielding rogue, it feels odd being a much tankier character but ending every combat very close to death, when in 95% of fights with Slythe he wouldn't even get a scratch
I'm glad as a paladin I've got a bit of healing as a bonus action!

Re: D&D Interlude: The Vault of the Lady Fortune
We're a bit of a melee heavy party this time around, so I think that fire cavern was always going to be tricky for us. I was using a bow for most of that just because I was expecting to take almost as much damage just from hitting that first fire snake as I was dishing out to it. I don't know if this ability has been used yet, but part of Arctiss' melee toolset is a fire-based secondary attack that I didn't think would have any effect in that encounter, so I didn't use it. I think I only survived the boss fight because I was able to get away without attracting attacks of opportunity (and I have to burn a spell slot to do it).
I think in most situations we'll have three melee fighters at the front with Korvak slinging spells from behind us, and Gronk won't be the sole target (don't forget that you were the only one other than me that the fire elemental attacked, so you practically tanked the boss for us). You've got healing abilities, Arctiss has Cure Wounds (though few spell slots with which to use it), and I *think * Monks have a Ki ability that can heal too. I reckon we'll be fine with a bit of co-ordination, we just might require a couple of days spent doing team-building exercises first.

That reminds me, I have a pretty useful ability that I've not had the chance to use yet - if a creature I'm attacking chooses to attack another character adjacent to me, I can impose disadvantage on the attack. Could come in handy next time we're fighting something scary.

Re: D&D Interlude: The Vault of the Lady Fortune
I doubt all of your combat encounters will be quite so bruising. Those tunnels were purposefully meant to have fewer but tougher battles. Once you killed the minions that fire elemental didn't last long at all though, and not a single KO to the party yet either!
There'll be some easier fights sprinkled in here and there that won't deplete quite so much health. But then you can probably anticipate that there might be some even tougher ones around the corner that may require some actual planning and coordination. Which should be interesting given the current dynamic of Gronk charging everything head on.

Re: D&D Interlude: The Vault of the Lady Fortune
Any chance people are available next Wednesday for an 8 to 10 session?
Re: D&D Interlude: The Vault of the Lady Fortune
Assuming that's not tomorrow, so does that mean no session this week? I'm fine for next week.

Re: D&D Interlude: The Vault of the Lady Fortune
Yep, fine for that. I can also do next Monday if that helps.
Re: D&D Interlude: The Vault of the Lady Fortune
Yeah, I can do Wednesday (or monday for that matter).
Re: D&D Interlude: The Vault of the Lady Fortune
Yes, sorry, that's next Wednesday (15th). This week is a no go.
Re: D&D Interlude: The Vault of the Lady Fortune
All good for 8pm tomorrow?
