Black Friday 2021

Post by Mantis » Fri Nov 19, 2021 11:49 am

It's everyone's favourite consumerist nightmare holiday event!

Buy, buy, buy! Even if you don't need or want it! Buy it! Buy it, then throw it away! Then buy another!

There are games and gadget sales literally everywhere, so stick any decent deals you find in here or just let us know what cool stuff you bought.

I did my annual renewal of PS Plus for £29 through ShopTo, would recommend that to any fellow Playstation owners. Other than possibly picking up a couple of cheap games I'm largely trying to keep my wallet closed this year to save a bit of cash.

My Voyage charging port is knackered so I just bought a 2021 Kindle Paperwhite Kids edition** which is 3 weeks old and already reduced. I also had a 20% trade in coupon I had from sending them an old broken keyboard kindle months ago so it only cost me 90quid. I did agonise over the choice of that or the reduced Oasis but I just dont like the metal backing of the last 2 Oasis models so I went the no page turn button route. :(

**Kids edition being the only sane one to buy. Its the same price as the ad free Paperwhite, is the same hardware but comes ad free, with a case and 2 years accidental damage cover. Oh and a year of Kindle Kids subscription which will probably have some good stuff in it.

I'm also keeping an eye on Vodafone to see if its worth upgrading my phone. :-k

I am keeping an eye on the price of the Aftershokz Aeropex bone conductive headphones, after I managed to lose the set I bought last year (I was so pissed off). They are usually £150 but they knocked £50 off last year and I hope they do so again.

Other than that, I will keep an eye open for Xmas gifts and maybe some cut-price booze to stock us up, but thats about it. No plans for any major purchases.

Quick Q, how does it work if I buy a ps plus sub? I've got my renewal coming up end of November after the sales have finished annoyingly. Does it take the place of the November renewal? Add an extra year on? I'm confused heh.

If you redeem the code on your account then it just adds a year on to whatever period you're currently billed up to.
