It's on the screen where you level up - there's a new tab for optional stuff.

Hm, I didn't see anything obvious, maybe because I'm playing the CR homebrew class?

I get the impression that they're aimed at spellcasters and there to make the lower levels 1-5 a bit more interesting and give you the chance to make changes later on. The inspiration one I think is just a more magic-user specific version of bardic inspiration.
