To infinity...
To infinity...
Thought I'd create a dedicated Space thread, rather than clutter up Moving Pictures.
The Artemis launch window is now 2pm tomorrow, dependent on the risk of causing a lightning strike...

Another date to watch out for is 00.00am 27th of this month, there will be a live feed of NASA crashing a spacecraft into an asteroid....which is nice.

Re: To infinity...
It's been delayed because of a possible fuel leak. Rocket science sounds crazy stressful.
Re: To infinity...
Yeah, it's not the first time, it was during the hydrogen fueling, there is shrinkage because of the liquid and flow rates have to be managed to compensate for seal leakage. Monday will be the next window I think.

1 hour from impact in the Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART)!
The spaceship is 7 million miles from Earth, attacking a football stadium-sized asteroid, and signals take 45 seconds to get here from it. Utterly phenomenal science!

Re: To infinity...
I started watching that 30 seconds before impact. Great timing!
Re: To infinity...
17m off target! Not a bad MOA over 7 million miles!

Amazing stuff
Re: To infinity...
Rooms full of rocket scientists reacting to their missions succeeding is one of my favourite genres.
