New Themes

I'll put tentative colour variants of the current theme in here once I've worked on them a bit and you guys can feedback on them before they go live.

I've installed a couple of different colour schemes for now so that people can set it something they're used to using, but they're purely stock styles and don't look especially neat in some cases. Everything in future is going to be based on the Clean-Edits style, so I'd recommend using that one just to get used to how it lays everything out. Colour options coming soon.

I'm sticking to the tried and tested one at the moment. Not a big fan of how Clean-Edits looks.

In what way? Just colours-wise? Because none of the other themes have the same level of functionality when it comes to mobile resizing and such, so all my future colour changes are going to be based on the clean board style.

I'm aware that Revolution doesn't fill the screen width too. The PwRevolution style waa quite heavily edited and the only theme I've made any edits to at all is Clean-Edits so I'll look into tidying the others up a bit while I work on the new ones.

Is there a way to personalise the avatars to the left of the screen or would that be a theme wide option?

I think most people are used to the profiles on the left. That'll take some getting used to!

It's a bit of both colours and the layout Mantis. It's the icons by the topics and the text I think mainly, all a bit too chunky for me.

On layout of the forum itself, is there a way to disable the quick reply box at the bottom?

I never use it and just find it annoying.

Another small thing - again completely minor - there's 10 posts a page instead of 15. I don't even know if really makes much difference really, but I guess we're used to having more.

I'm pretty sure that's a simple board setting in the admin panel that I can change.

With regards to the other things, I might be able to make the quick chat box collapse so you click to expand like on PW. I'll look into making the UI buttons and text a bit sleeker at the same time I try to move the avatars to the left side.

Like others have said, moving the user box to the left would be great. I am too used to reading the name of the person before the content of the post. Left to right innit. Better.

While we're making suggestions, could I ask if maybe the submit button appears on the left underneath the text box? I've lost track of the number of times I've saved my draft today instead of submitting

I had no idea why I was doing it until I went back to the old place and saw that's the way round they were, I think after ten years it's just now indelibly in my muscle memory...
