Actually, how do people feel about a Pratchett-specific day? I've checked the database and there are nearly 500 questions on the topic, so definitely viable.
And what about other custom categories to mix it up a bit? A cursory search of the database shows the following would be viable:
Sci-fi movies and/or books
Red Dwarf
HP Lovecraft
Videogames (although from memory when we've tried before that it was heavily weighted towards obscure console titles)
If you want me to check out a custom topic and see if it's viable just put it up here.

This may be heresy, but...
I'm not really a fan of Pratchett's books.
Red Dwarf I could get behind, though.

Yeah, obviously I wouldn't want to put up a category that not everyone doesn't have at least some familiarity with.
Another vote for RD

But one on a book I haven't read. I consider myself a Pratchett lover but I suddenly realised, quite recently, that I havent read a ton of his books!
I started when he started publishing, buying all his books , standing in queues to get them signed but then just stopped.
So, the good news is that despite his untimely passing I still have a lot of his books to enjoy

I don't know much about Red Dwarf, having only seen a few episodes when I was a teenager.
HP Lovecraft I've never read and know nothing about other than he was a complete Edwin.

Fair enough. I think I'm going to have a go at fashioning a general sci-fi round, which will feature stuff like RD and Dr Who etc in its pool of questions, and see how it goes. Let's be honest, I think it's going to be something we have a better standard of knowledge of than the crochet and MTG-focused hobbies round.

BOLLOCKS. Knew I'd got the last question today wrong as soon as loading the next page gave me time to think - there was another, more appropriate option on there

Damn, caught out by failing to spot the all important word 'not' in the question. Not the first time, either

As the only one not to miss a day (and even if you did) I suspect that your crown remains unassailable Alan

I'm annoyed at the fact I've managed to miss the equivalent of a week's worth of quiz days. Almost makes a man want to quit drinking. Almost.

Think that might be a record on my time today! I tried earlier but it was non-responsive, but apparently it started the timer for when I came back later.
