I've created this in Paint, based on a draft by Dj that he posted on the old forum:
Give me some feedback, chaps.
"Kingdoms and empires pass away like mist from the sea; the people shout and triumph and even in the revelry of Belshazzar's feast, the Medes break the gates of Babylon."

I'm a big fan of symmetry. The placement of 'the' bothers me, but that might just be me. Like I say I'm a weirdo.

I'm very much into symmetry too, and that "The" does bother me as well, but I wanted to make the joystick fit in as well!

It looks brilliant, Doug. My only criticism is I liked "Stay a while, and read!" bit rather than Traditional British Pub. But that's only because it, for some reason, reminded me of Baldur's Gate... ¬_¬

It reminds me of Diablo 2. "Stay a while and listen..."
I'll make a revised version in a moment.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but this has white pixels around the border too, which looks bad on a dark background.

Ah, Diablo 2 is what it was reminding me of. I was trying to remember the quote you just wrote, attributing it in my mind to Elminster in BG, but it was Deckard Cain!

Is there any way we could make it look a bit more rustic? Like some slightly faded paintwork.

Thanks -- I didn't pick that up before. I'll fix it in the next draft.

I'll see what I can do.

That looks tip top mate, did you see my second post that I put in the thread on PW regarding the dimensions? Setting the whole thing on a white banner of whatever it was I said in there would make slotting it onto the header of any of our future themes an absolute doddle.

I did see that, but unfortunately those pixels dimensions you gave me are really small. I don't know if this logo will scale down that small and still look good. ¬_¬
Anyway, here is a second draft, taking on board everyone's suggestions:

I'm in agreement with the symmetry of the 'the' placement, and the preference for "stay a while".
Was there a reason for not having "the" in the web address too? I felt
www.thegamersarms was more descriptive than
www.gamersarms, which sounds like a weapons related site?

I know lots of pubs are the same, but the lack of possessive apostrophe in the name annoys me -_-
