Board Games
Re: Tabletop Games
Very much tempted. Still have the Dwarf slayer stats in a notepad file on my desktop

Re: Tabletop Games
That won't do you much good, since we are playing AHQ, not WHQ. Brand new characters will be created.

I am aware, was more a statement of how much I enjoyed it

Re: Tabletop Games
Ah, sorry for the misunderstanding! Glad you enjoyed it and hopefully you will enjoy playing or at least following the AHQ campaign.

Re: Tabletop Games
Sorry, didn't get the chance to start this today, but tomorrow it's all going to kick off for sure.

Re: Tabletop Games (Wargaming, Board Games, RPGs)
Is nobody partial to the 40k side of the Warhammer universe? It occurred to me that nobody seemed to be really as keen on it. I used to collect the tabletop models when I was a teenager, I had a nice little army of Imperial Guard which I painted in a Chaos-esque style and played them as an evil faction of fallen mercenaries. I sold them all when I outgrew it though, but I still have my 2nd Edition Space Hulk board game in storage somewhere. I used to absolutely love playing that.
Re: Tabletop Games (Wargaming, Board Games, RPGs)
Yeah, I had the WH40K phase in my teens, but never *quite* took to the theme as well as anything fantasy-related. Adored Space Crusade too.
I found the WH40K rules rather unwieldy at times, I forgot which edition I mostly played in. But I loved building/painting an army and seeing them on the battlefield.

I actually bought the relatively unknown and never talked about Space Marine boardgame when I was about 14. The one with all the tiny units, buildings and land raiders. Bit of a waste of money, never got into it, all a bit finnicky and my mates didn't get on with it:
Re: Tabletop Games (Wargaming, Board Games, RPGs)
Yeah it was just before titans came about, which I never got on with personally.
Re: Tabletop Games (Wargaming, Board Games, RPGs)
I was a 40K player back when the box was blue and had Blood Angels on the front of it. 2nd edition I think?
Had just shy of 2K points of Dark Angels and Orks, and 1K of Chaos marines.
Found my Codexes the other day while looking for my unpainted genestealers to add to my Kill Team that I've been talked into.....
Codexes used to be SO much cooler.....

Most of my early play was with the 1st edition Rogue Trader rules I think. Just buy the book and cheap-as-fuck units (box of 40 orks for £20 or something ridiculous):

That box was the actual origin of the phrase "Grim Dark". Man, I loved that box. So many memories.

I'm planning a zombie survival pen & paper RPG game based loosely on All Flesh Must be Eaten, and on the Unisystem, but with modern conversions.
Has anyone here given it a go before?
Maybe we could find a way of giving it a go as a forum at some point if there's enough interest

Re: Tabletop Games (Wargaming, Board Games, RPGs)
Impressive work Doug. AHQ is actually a really good candidate for homemade recreation. I'm sure I've seen replica AHQ room/corridor tiles for sale before.
After all, all you need is the rulebook, dice and some figures and you're good to go.
EDIT: It might run out of space real quick on a table though, with those thick spaces for walls everywhere. ¬_¬

Re: Tabletop Games (Wargaming, Board Games, RPGs)
Yeah, the new Necron models are pretty nice in fairness.
I considered Lost Patrol a while ago when my plastic crack addiction started back up with Silver Tower.
What I have been doing is drilling holes in some Tyranid Warriors for magnetising the arms so I can have options.
Fingers crossed I might actually get to paint something in the next couple of weeks...
