Fair enough. It's an excellent little game. I hope there's some woods near where you live, as the person who last went for a walk in the woods is the player who gets to go first. When I played the game, two years ago at my in-laws' house in Tennessee, I always got to go first, as my brothers-in-law typically stay inside all day, whereas I would take a daily stroll in the woods behind their house.

Damn, MM, that looks like it could be just the job :o

I'm a bit tapped out at present, but I'm going to pop it in an Amazon basket so they notify me of any price drops. Cheers!

Also, you might want to consider, from the same publishers, Mice & Mystics.

Thanks. I did see that one in one of the reddit threads I was checking out the other night for suggestions, from reviews it sounded perhaps a little complicated for an entry-level game, but if the other one is a hit (when I can get it), then we might well graduate to that.

Jiminy jillickers, this is basically sold out everywhere. There are sellers for £65 on Amazon but I'm loath to pay that (the one listed as £57 when I got to the checkout said actually they're out of stock so tough luck), especially having seen it listed on gaming shop sites for £43. I'd be willing to pay that, I think.

Was it just not widely available in this country? I've asked a couple of the cheaper stores to email me when stock arrives, but the fact basically nobody has it makes me think that's unlikely to happen, anytime soon at least.

I'm weighing up the option of having it shipped from the US, even with the hefty P&P it works out nearly a tenner cheaper (£55). :-k

And the muppets listing it for £40 on Ebay but charging twice that in P&P can get fucked!

Probably means it is out of print.

It looks like it was only released 18 months ago, can that happen that quickly?

Yes. I once bought a game from those guys called Dungeon Run. It went OOP very quickly -- less than a year, I think -- and was never reprinted.

Yikes.

Hmm. I don't think Stuffed Fables is OOP, by the looks of things, just seems to be an expensive game. I can only suggest it must be "stuffed" full of plastic miniatures to command such a high price.

It is expensive (£65 seems to be the base price from what I can tell), however the problem more is that everywhere bar one Amazon marketplace seller seems to be out of stock, I have to assume that's a problem of supply rather than demand (in terms of people buying it in vast enough numbers). Almost every specialist board game supplier, large and small, I could find had it listed on their sites and most more cheaply than Amazon, but all said it was out of stock.

I'm hovering over the buy button anyway as it basically seems to be exactly what I was after, although the wife will be home in a few minutes and will probably try to talk me down...

I found one store who are offering pre-orders that will be available in February next year. Perhaps its getting a reprint.

Maybe worth shooting the publisher a wee email before splurging unnecessarily.

That makes sense; I think copies of the first printing must be running low all over, which is why the remaining copies are being sold at a higher than normal price, but because of sufficient demand it's due for a reprint next year.

Nice, thanks for that MM, definitely worth a go.

Edit: done, fired them an email so will see what they say.
