My absolute favourite thing coming from this debacle is that the market value of US pharmaceutical companies tanked yesterday because someone paid $8 for a blue tick and pretended to be the social media arm of a major insulin manufacturer, saying that they were going to be making insulin free. It knocked billions from their market cap.

Yeah, I don't think the pilot of the smaller aircraft (a P-63 Kingcobra) was able to see the B-17 because of his aircraft's poor visibility and the bank angle. These sorts of crashes are always tragic on more than one level, because while obviously the aircrew are the most important loss, there are so few airworthy examples of those aircraft (the P-63 was a variant of which only two were ever built and there are fewer than 10 flying B-17s) that it's a loss of a piece of history too.

People seem to think it was intentional but I'm sure your right and the P63 pilot just didn't realize how close he was. Imagine what it was like when there was hundreds of those aircraft in the sky in a life and death situation, collisions must have been really common.

No doubt they'll be able to name the exact Russian divers who did it because one of them bragged about it on social media and took a selfie with the explosives.

I'm not making light of the situation as its fucking horrible, but there's a chance those guys could have been conscripted and sent into the actual exclusion zone in Ukraine. Which would have been ironic.

Sky will now charge you £5 if you skip ad breaks.

https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/news/sky ... 5-25644831
A Sky Executive, probably wrote:Beginning December 2022, Sky customers opting to fast forward through our valued partners advertisements will begin to receive shipments of our latest innovation; branded orally and rectally inserted encouragement devices. Along with our marketing partners we are excited to introduce these new options for customers wanting to reduce their outgoings while continuing to enjoy Sky's quality programming.
Genuinely, how long is it until their TVs contain cameras that observe you to make sure you're paying attention to the ads? Walk out during the ad break to make a cuppa? Oh no you don't, we're going to pause the ads until you come back and watch it. The nerve of you, paying to watch our programmes and then not watching what companies pay us to show you. The bloody cheek!

It already irks me that the C4 on-demand channel pauses the ads if you have the temerity to switch to another tab.

It's particularly galling with Sky, based on them already being entirely subscription-based to begin with and massively profit-making.

I'm guessing they're feeling the squeeze with people ending subs or downgrading packages lately? Shareholders are probably grumbling.
