I wanted to go see him in London but he played a tiny venue and the tickets sold out literally the moment they became available. :(

The solo stuff looks like it would have been a brilliantly fun gig.

Yep Kentish Town Forum is a small venue, I was so lucky to bag tickets for it. It was in equal parts fantastic, extremely pornographic, hilarious and downright messy. During Allesfresser the band hurled enormous cream and chocolate cakes into the audience, then followed it up with about 50 raw fish during Fish On. I ended up having to spend a fair bit of time the following day cleaning up my boots which were covered in cake and fish (smelled pretty rough), and we wondered on the way out whether the venue knew what was planned. The poor staff having to clean all that up once we had left!

Last time we seen Rammstein he pulled a big rubber cock out and started "pissing" on audience. My friend turned tail and ran because he thought he was actually pissing. The rubber cock was like.... 2 foot long!

Do people really just throw out perfectly good milk without smelling to see if it's turned?

Our habits are so fine tuned it never goes off because we've already drunk it before it gets the chance.

Definitely, I work with a lady who will not make a cup of tea out of anything even a day past the date on the carton, whereas I will give it a sniff and happily use it without even looking at the date providing it smells OK. Suggesting she do likewise made her physically nauseous. With very few exceptions I only ever use the dates on the packaging as a rough guide.

I've encountered the other side of this problem. Back in the days of being in the office, I was first in one Monday morning and gave the milk from the previous week a sniff test and recoiled. It wasn't marginal - I'm surprised there weren't chunks. Just as I was about to pour it down the sink, my boss appeared behind me and asked to give it a try. I warned him, but he went in for a sniff and decided it was fine and proceeded to make a cup of tea with it. :-&

There was fresh milk in the fridge. Even if there hadn't been, there is no way I would have been able to drink that without immediate consequences.

Unlikely as it will have been mid-2019. Unless it started with him, and the milk...

It brings me absolutely no pleasure to say I've got one that goes the extra step. At my old work, came in one morning to discover someone had left the milk out all night. And, quite possibly, on a radiator so bad had it gone. So bad, that you knew the instant you picked up the carton that something was wrong. The weight, the movement of the contents, was all off and raising mental alarm bells.

Still, I had to sniff it. That's just what you do with milk, right, to check that it's turned? The smell I can only describe as vomit, if all the vomitee had consumed was milk and cheese. The consistency, when I then poured the diabolical contents down the sink, was likewise. It was a bit like cottage cheese - full of lumps but still disconcertingly liquid in places. The fact it wouldn't entirely go down the plughole and needed to be prodded with the handle of a teaspoon, merely added to the horror.

I was not best pleased.

On the flip side, I used to buy a particular type of coffee that I guess had a non-neutral PH one way or the other. Milk that smelled fine would curdle in it if was close to turning. I drank an entire cup of the stuff without noticing (the chunks were tiny and I was half asleep). It didn't taste remotely wrong. I guess with strong coffee the flavour of the coffee would override that of the milk. I suffered no ill effects other than being a little bit disgusted.

I was always taught that if it smells of strawberries, it is off.
