The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
Have we picked the same subclass too? That would be a real coincidence.
Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
I don't think you get subclasses until level 2.
Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
Ah has he not hinted at which one he'll pick? You pretty much know which way I'll be going with mine.
Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
No, we've not discussed it yet - I just saw the character sheet and burst out laughing at the odds of you both creating the same character again.
(Yeah, not exactly the same, but there are once again strong comparisons to be drawn).

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
If his decision was influenced at all by his last character then it'll be because he liked the taste and ridiculous power of being able to sling spells but was frustrated by how limited the list for his old class was. That's pretty much why I went for it.
For what it's worth, I'm going to be pouring pretty much all of my resources into making him solely melee focused.

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
I've sent Wrath a brief description of what I was wanting to do, and I think we're likely to be far more diverged than Sage and Charr were.
Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
Yeah, it sounds like they’ll be distinct enough to not result in much overlap of abilities and personalities.
Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
If it looks like it will become too much of an issue then I could probably achieve a similar outcome as an eldritch knight fighter. I've had my eyes on this subclass for quite a while though.
Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
Yeah, I'm the same; I picked the class because of the subclass, and I wouldn't ask you to change because of that.
Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
I'm really curious which one you picked that you found so enticing.
I can almost imagine the pain Wrath must be feeling at having to create encounters for another campaign where two of us are playing high level spellcasters with even more ridiculous spells at our disposal than last time to totally cheese through everything.
