Yes but only because the Fixed Term Parliament mechanism they were going for one under allowed the Government leeway on when to hold it. Johnson is going to try and force through a new bill which sets one in stone for 12th December and the LibDems/SNP want to negotiate amendments to it to arrange it for the 9th instead.

Not voting Conservative, Labour aren't a viable alternative, so, purely because of the local candidate, I'm voting Lib Dem.
