The Absolute State Of It - It's The UK Politics Thread!
Re: The Absolute State Of It - It's The UK Politics Thread!
Whilst Truss would be a better opponent to face at the next election I am more concerned with the damage she may cause during the rest of the current tenure. She is actually utterly thick as a plank and that makes her more dangerous. Her idea for massively increasing the budget deficit to fund tax cuts is going to be the final nail in the coffin for the economy in its current state. Of course, the Tory membership are salivating at the idea of corporation tax cuts and not particularly fond of Rishi being a bit more realistic, so she will probably win the final vote.
Labour typically end up coming into government with a whole host of problems caused by the Tories that they have to fix. If things are just too far gone that they can't do it in a single term then they will be back out in opposition at the following election because the public will blame them for not fixing things fast enough. Such is the ridiculous nature of British politics.

Yes, lets not forget that the fuckwits responsible for choosing the next PM are the same fuckwits who fell for the last one's bullshit, hardly a glowing recommendation of their ability. True too, whoever wins we are all fucked. The entire Tory party is hopelessly corrupt but the British public are incapable of seeing it, seemingly.
"Lube? No need, you lot have been fucking me for so long it is like the channel tunnel, get back to it Tories..."
It's enough to make a pig sick, but seemingly being a greedy Edwin who shits on people is seen as leadership by the majority of the idiot public.

Oh look, new Chancellor Nadim Zahawi is instructing lawyers to send threatening letters to journalists who have been investigating his business and tax affairs:

And therein lies the problem; he doesn't see the issue with that. It's not as if he's somehow under the impression the funds were misallocated, I don't think there's any way of misinterpreting the word "deprived", he simply thinks that landowners are more worthy of funding.
He, like pretty much any senior Tory you could name, simply does not care about poor people.

Add into the mix the myths about the refugee "crisis", which plainly isn't:

This is utterly vile. To consider the value of a university degree purely on its earning potential is short-sighted beyond belief. Studying for a humanities degree like English Literature or Philosophy or Creative Writing might not translate directly to a lifetime of raking in cash, but it teaches skills valuable to many areas of life, enriches your worldview and most importantly, it helps you to think for yourself. I guess Sunak would rather have a nation of high-earning robots than intelligent, diversely-read individuals who question the shite that he and his ignorant mates come up with.
Christ, I'm actually rooting for Liz Truss at this point.

On the bright side, only two and a half years till they get voted back in again.

Doesn't that just reek of "we're already not paying nurses enough and we intend to continue not paying them enough"?The former chancellor would assess university degrees through their drop-out rates, numbers in graduate jobs and salary thresholds, with exceptions for nursing and other courses with high social value.
Even if I'm feeling incredibly generous and think that he wants to raise the population's overall quality of life by ensuring they have the skills that enable them to earn more, this is still bloody thought control by a different name. Regardless of the motive, this is the government wanting to control what you learn. That's terrifying.

Pair that with Sunak's plan to widen the definition of extremism to include people who have "extreme hatred of Britain", with no clarification as to what that entails, and it's not hard to understand his vision for the future of the country. I don't think it's even fair to say that these things are on the path to fascism - they're the destination.

This is where we are:
Under the tories there is a 10-fold increase of people waiting above 4 hours for A&E. This isn't about an increase in the numbers of people presenting, it is about the numbers waiting above 4 hours. Managed Decline.

"How many A&E patients wait more than 12 hours between a decision to admit them to hospital and actually being admitted?
In August 2010, NHS England recorded one case of this. Not 100, not 1,000. Just one.
Last month, that figure was 29,317."
