Anyone see the Joe Lycett scandal that has got the right-wing snowflakes melting with rage at how truthful he was?

I really, really hope that the electorate remember that the Tories left millions with extortionate energy bills over the summer because they wanted to leave this "easy win" policy for the new PM to implement. Nothing has changed in the last few months that would have stopped Johnson doing it, they just didn't.

Yeah, the previously-thinly-veiled contempt is now on full display.

It's all just… ugh.

The new cabinet is pretty bleak. I didn't think it could get much worse than the last one but here we are.

It's so demotivating being a public servant with this lot increasingly putting the worst people in charge.

Hardman of Brexit himself is in charge of Northern Ireland...

There is a worrying cabal of ERG, 'christian', anti-abortion, anti-climate-change, anti-poor in this government, and—contrary to popular belief—being the right-winger I am, I'm all for it!!! ](*,)

Correct me if I'm wrong as I'm not exactly an economist, but if the government borrows £100bn to fix energy bills at their current levels for 18 months, surely that means we the public will have to pay that back in taxes at some point along with the eye-watering level of interest from the rates that are already spiraling out of control? Seems like the elastic band of reality is being drawn backwards to the point where it's going to snap, and it'll snap hard.

Yup. Can't do a windfall tax to pay for it though as according to Truss that would stifle investment in the UK.

Know what else will stifle investment? When none of the potential customers have any sodding money to spend.

Yeah heaven forfend they eyeball some of the companies making an absolute killing in the current climate and hit them with a windfall tax to reduce the burden on the taxpayer...

Oh, but think of the poor shareholders! [-X

I see my local MP Jayawardena is now Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs , a spineless lickspittle who has had his tongue up the arse of every PM in the last few years and always voted on party lines. His record is appalling:

Further to that, back in 2020 The Guardian ran a story that every house in the UK could get electricity from offshore windfarms by 2030 for the grand total of £50bn. The Government has pledged £200bn of taxpayers money to energy companies despite them being projected to make £170bn in excess profits over the next 2 years. Make it make sense.

Besides the odious little arsehole being interviewed, I'm not sure what I'm meant to be looking at.
