I suspect that this has been announced as a major policy simply because there is so much tribal infighting within the current Conservative parliamentary party that this is one of the few policies he is likely to be able to get them to agree on. Everything on housing, the economy, health, education and the environment is so bitterly divided between the different ideological groups of MPs that he will be content to spend the majority of his term simply doing nothing.

I mean, he has pretty much been a completely absent PM since the job was given to him. He's not remotely qualified for the role and there's no chance in hell of him uniting his MPs.

Like everything else they have suggested in the last five years though, it is a terrible policy and is highly likely to be completely unworkable.

It’s like coming home from holiday to find your house is on fire and then deciding to re-pave the driveway.
An ideal metaphor as the UK clearly has the cowboys in at the moment.

Metaphor! That's the word I couldn't remember (is this a sign of old age? Forgetting words)

There's a Rishi Sunak interview on at the moment with the wasp-biting harridan, Laura Kuenssberg. Inept questions, zero answers. I'd lose no sleep if the room was bricked up from the outside.

I'm starting to think we need a system where every time an elected official fails to even attempt to answer a question (outside of legal or national security restrictions, etc), their term of office is reduced by a week. It'd need a massive independent regulartory body to keep up with Boris Johnson alone, though.

It was always going to be the case - what was Sunak thinking dithering and holding off on what was clearly a sacking offense. Now he just looks more of an inept twat that he did originally, which is quite a stretch.

I read it as "if I sack him now, I'll have to come up with something really good to avoid resigning when my own massive breaches of the ministerial code come to light".

For some treatment that works really well (spot the bloke with 25 years of private healthcare employment). Cancer treatment at home (administering chemotherapy) gives a higher survival rate and a lot less stress for the patient.

But if you haven't enough doctors to man GP surgeries and hospitals, how the fuck do you do a distributed model? What a twat he is. Fucking fund it and stop measuring everything against a £ sign - haven't you realised yet the entire population is pig-sick of it?

Rishi Sunak's still on about his ridiculous maths plan.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-65293430
Speaking in London on Monday to an audience of students, teachers and business leaders, he will attack an "anti-maths mindset," saying that being bad at maths has become "socially acceptable".
Socially acceptable. That says it all, doesn't it? If people don't fall in line with your ill-considered policy, try shaming them by attacking their itelligence and making them out to be social pariahs because they can't remember how to do long division (or why they'd need to in modern society).

Laughable policy really isn't it. Beyond being probably unworkable due to the massive shortages of staff there already is, it's going to do nothing to address any real issues the education system faces.

They have zero ideas/don't give a toss.
