It is interesting to see how far to the right so many of them are pitching themselves to try and win over their colleagues and the party membership ahead of the voting stages. Some of them are so far off the deep end they almost feel like parody characters, sad to think that they actually reflect the state of politics in this country at the moment.

I'm just waiting for one of them to run on a ticket of killing all of the poor and embracing the smallest state imaginable by disbanding the government and sacking themselves. No doubt they will win a sweeping majority among the 200,000 Conservative party members who have a hard-on for the good old days of feudalism.

Rishi Sunak's sniveling defence of Boris Johnson shows how they lack any contrition and exactly how much contempt they have for the public. After everything that's happened we're still being fed the myth of what a great man Johnson is and how his total disregard for law, dignity and democracy is just a minor character flaw.

You never know how much influence the media will have when they inevitably rally behind the winner, but I don't think Sunak will win an election without some serious next level gaslighting. He's too tainted by his time as chancellor and has been embroiled in too many scandals already. Truss doesn't have much of a chance either because she is actually thick as pig shit. Mordaunt might pose the biggest threat at an election.

God help us if they let one of the utter right wing loons win it though.
