Yep, cancelled the parking and hotel. Will cancel the flight next, will lose £100 but it could be a lot worse.

it looks like Covid-19 could actually do a lot of damage. If it continues to spread it will trigger a global recession if factories begin to shut down

Well giant container ships (that are the backbone of the world economy) are already failing to leave Chinese ports, which will have a knock-on effect in a month's time when they were due to arrive, and the FTSE is down to almost 2008 financial crisis levels. Hell, there's even talk of Formula 1 having serious issues this year, with teams based in Italy potentially not being able to operate, and the Chinese GP already having been postponed.

yep - I think we could be entering some trying times. If the supply chain of food is affected we might even see panic buying here and a run on the banks.

Netflix shares are up - everyone is saying they still stay at home to catch up on box sets. That is ofcourse if the lights are still on......

And that's the story of why I'm not allowed near pregnant women for the next few weeks.

It's causing a bit of grief between my sister and her husband about their up coming holiday. He's having nightmares already about it where my sisters is hell bent on still going no matter what. I'd myself just cancel it and redo it for another time. Just not worth the risk of catching it.

Kinda stocked up on tin goods and the ole TP as there will be a mass rush at some point. May as well get the stuff the now.

We're off to Greece on Thursday and barring any substantial change in the situation will still be going. Only supposed to be there until Sunday but I feel like I might pack a few extra pair of clothes just in case we get stuck somewhere.

Travel to anywhere outside the highest infected areas for the next few weeks should be low risk, which isn't to say it's not a huge problem or that it shouldn't be taken seriously, because clearly it is and it should. But to put the numbers in perspective, if all 90,000 confirmed cases were in the UK, that would be 0.13% of the population. Let's go overboard and say there were a million unconfirmed cases in the UK alone - that's still only 1.5%.

It will get far worse and travel will become a risk, but I personally wouldn't be too worried about travelling in the immediate future if it's necessary or planned. I probably wouldn't get on a rammed commuter train on a whim, though.

most of the people who are dying are old with pre-condition illness. So even if you do get it the chances are you will survive. Its the inconvenience of it all.
