By the way Mantis, your Marines can move diagonally past doorways/wall corners. So it looks like they can get 1 square further than that.

I'll move yours in a sec Sly then update the map.

I'm not sure which ones can move further, but I think I did move at least one or two of them their full movement distance. I'll make do with the positions for now.

Well, I have to say you've all done remarkably well to only lose 1 marine after clearing your 3 quadrants. I would have expected more losses by now, but to be fair I have gone *slightly* easy on you with my tactics so far, what with this being the 1st mission. But it gets harder; the 3rd mission I get access to reinforcements! This is more of a gentle introduction.

I'm happy to leave it there this evening.

Animalmother, just pop a post in the thread when you want to move your marines and I'll see to it tomorrow. As for the weekend coming I'm sure you'll be busy doing things, but I'll still be around off and on & I'll be able to complete a few turns here and there if you'd like to do that.

There's a small matter of a minor footy match taking place on Saturday evening, so that's probably not going to be an option for an evening session.

By the way Animamother, feel free to post all 5 moves at once.

It's only when there's combat involved we need to do one at a time.

Will have a gander at the board then send the yellow canaries into certain death.

I should be able to send my bolter to open door at M7?
Move plasma to O7 and hope nothing is at a bad angle.
Assault to K6, commander to J5. Rocket to H2.

Going to start moving into new area.

I think Maturin is going to want to reveal the radar blips after your first move there mate, as you entered the final map quadrant.

Just saw this. Yeah, the whole weekend is going to be out for me I'm afraid, after the football on Saturday it's my 40th on Sunday and there's a bit of a party n'stuff with family. Plus I can't promise I wouldn't be super-depressed and just send all my marines into the dreadnought's sights on a nihlistic whim

Maybe I'll hold off opening the door then. Alien ED 209 is probably behind it.

Without wanting to back-seat game, it might be an idea to regroup your squad like I'm doing before entering that final quadrant (you can see where it starts from the blue triangles on the outside of the map). Not least because it'll be the alien turn next and with all the remaining blips revealed I'll probably take the ED-209 to the face before I can do anything about it >_<

For reference, your bolter with the targeter is on the threshold of the last quadrant, as soon as he moves forward a square it'll put all the remaining enemies on the map.

Ah okay, yes. If you cross that line with your first Marine and into the unexplored quadrant, once you've finished moving him I get to place all the remaining blips.

But I can never place blips in line of sight of a marine. So if you went in and opened a door, I wouldn't be able to place a blip in that room.

Also, your Bolter needs to be standing in one of the 2 squares facing a door to open it (but you're allowed to move diagonally through open doorways).

So he'd need to move to N7 if you want to open that door, and he has enough movement to reach there.

Sure, we'll finish off a few moves today if we can then pick up on Monday.

It's just occurred to me: Did you pick the Blood Angels because they're Liverpool colours?

I might just get all my squad into that room before opening anything. Cover all the angles in case shit kicks off.
