I thought they were only available to select groups, like over-50s, people with conditions, that sort of thing – is that still the case?
Covid or flu? We're both over 50 and both have diabetes.

This doesn't reveal it in the thumbnail, but the subsequent booster doses really do reduce the need for hospitalisation and severity/deaths.

Oh yeah, that wasn't clear. I meant the COVID one. Flu ones we went to the supermarket pharmacy to do. In and out in about 5 mins!

And that's the story of why I'm not allowed near pregnant women for the next few weeks.

I was feeling much better by yesterday evening and apart from the sore arm I feel normal today. Taking paracetamol every 4 hours seems to do the trick for me.

Went for an all day snowboarding class today to prep for a holiday I've been invited on at the end of next month. Spending the evening in a&e waiting for an x-ray.

Bloody Snowdome packing way too many people onto the tiny practice slope they have. Some Edwin with no control of his skis came round the corner way too fast and wide and clipped me off my board just as I was practicing full switch turns at speed, so I went flying. Slightly concerned I've cracked a rib but I think it's more likely to be big bruising. Not leaving something like that to chance with the state of things right now though.

Pain.

Sorry man, that sucks. Especially with it being a Friday night in A&E.

How rammed full of drunk casualties is it?

Can't see any yet, I came early to try and beat the rush. Was still told to expect a five hour wait though.

On the upside, I can make a big dent in my book on the Battle of Arnhem tonight!

Cheers Dave. Nine and a half hours and I'm still here, zoiks.

Shattered. I got up at 6 yesterday and spent 8 hours on the slopes before coming here.

Shattered.
Hopefully a description rather than a diagnosis!

For some reason I have a Theme Hospital-style announcement in my head advising patients not to die in the corridor...

Yep all good. I was in for ten and a half hours overall, left at 07:30am this morning and went straight to bed because I got up at 6 yesterday.

Thankfully no broken ribs, just very badly bruised. They only had one doctor on the a&e ward which is why it took so long and he was very apologetic. I really feel for the staff on the frontline services who are so overstretched at providing such a basic level of care. A&E should not take almost 11 hours but that's where we are now. Still glad I went to be safe instead of waking up this morning with potentially a complication because I'd shrugged it off.

The morphine they prescribed for the pain certainly helps.

If not, give us your location so that we can all come down there and make a scene. Move some chairs around and shit.

Edit - of course, right as I post. Morphine eh?
