I swear people are worse drivers today than ten years ago. My personal favorite is when I am overtaking someone on the motorway, they become so butthurt that they have been overtaken that they speed up to undertake but as soon as they are ahead they slow to their original speed again which leads to them being overtaken by me holding a completely steady speed. I had it happen with one guy three times in a row. It was quite hilarious at how pathetic it was.

Yep I don't miss my motorway commute I must say. The utter lack of any lane discipline from 90% of the users is what causes most of the delays. Smart motorways be damned, just use the ones that are there properly and they would be fine.

Once was travelling with my mother on a dual carriageway that had a 50 limit in the right lane which is where we needed to be coming up on a roundabout. Got undertaken at 70 by a couple in a Corsa and both driver and passenger had taken the time and effort to put both middle fingers up.

With a bit of luck, someone will be peeling them off the road with a spatula in the near future.

Seeing your consultant expecting to require therapy only to be told you need surgery which will involve detaching your Achilles tendon from your ankle, debriding the bone and tendon, before reattaching and closing it back up again.

Fuck.

My partner was admitted into hospital night before last after becoming severely ill all of a sudden throwing up and what I can only describe as an onset of manic episodes in the bedroom where she was screaming responding to visual and audible cues from things that were not present in the room. I didn't know what the fuck was going on and have generally never seen anything like it in my life, I can only corelate it to witnessing a horror scene first hand.

A doctor took me into a room yesterday and explained she had a severe case of food poisoning and they are trying to ascertain how severe still while I was next to her bed she rapidly stood up jumped right over the food table beside her and jumped into the wall collapsing on the floor before I could even properly react. She has an ongoing narrative also that she can delete coronavirus off her phone and save thirty thousand lives and she needs me to stop the malware and buy her a new phone, and there are seven foot people all round her bed which she is constantly talking to. I have to go along just to keep her fucking calm as she goes from semi collected and responsive to manic in a split second with a simple trigger. I spent eight hours in the room with her and only saw a doctor for five minutes.

Monday evening she went out for a meal with a friend and ordered the steak. Cleaning up her vomit the next day the meat was brightly coloured pink. Fuck that establishment absolutely fucking fuck them to all hell.

Jesus, you can get that sort of a reaction to food poisoning?

I'm so sorry, that sounds incredibly difficult.

I was only able to hand over belongings today due to all visitation being cancelled, I feel I actually have a lot to be thankful for right now. If I may be allowed to add some context my partner was moved to another ward last night and as I waited to be seen right in front of me a family was talking to a nurse then entered an adjacent door to the one my partner is now in, I could see them putting on ppe and it was only then that I spotted the printed bit of paper on the door - it read 'End of Life care.' My heart fucking sank immediately.

No matter what I have to deal with right now it will be nothing compared to what that family who entered the other door right before me had to face today.

I did ask why the ward move and it turns out when my partner was admitted, she was covid positive even though she tested negative her last test - thankfully she is dbl vax + boosted, we both are. They took some fluid from her spine gave her medication to keep her calm thankfully she was more herself relaxed and far more coherent on the phone call than everything I experienced yesterday.
