Splinters.
The most common splinters I deal with are my own beard hairs. My beard is so bristly that sometimes when I stroke my beard in deep thought, I end up with one or two tiny hair fragments embedded in my finger, which really hurts and they are surprisingly difficult to remove.

Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan
Just came across somebody who, every time he wanted to say the "20" part for any year from the past nineteen years, would, instead of "twenty" or "two-thousand-and...", just say: "two"
e.g. "two-thirteen" (2013) or "two-sixteen" (2016).
Sorry, no, 213 was eighteen centuries ago.

Trick or Treaters.
The whole concept gets on my tits. It should kindly fuck off.

Agreed; although I get equally annoyed by Scottish people who try to tell me it's really called GUISIN' and we should be using TURNIPS instead of pumpkins... as if changing the name of the activity or the symbolic piece of food makes the whole concept any less ridiculous.

Yup. I live on an estate with a ton of young families, perfect for trick or treaters. I basically don't answer the door for the entire week.

When shoelaces untie themselves.

Also, shoelaces. Why can't adults just have velcro straps like kids?

I think something like once popped up as an advert on my facebook. The page is full of alternative things too. I'm interested now
Well, I bought some...let's see how they fare

I've often thought this. At what point did we decide that having shoelaces over velcro straps was an unbreachable point of pride amongst adults? And yet loafers are fine! Madness.Stormbringer wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2019 10:53 amAlso, shoelaces. Why can't adults just have velcro straps like kids?

I think it's the unbearable noise of them.

Not to blow everyone's mind or anything but chances are you've been tying your laces wrong all these years...

When you get a rare email from Steam saying EVERYTHING in your Wishlist is on sale, then when you get around to buying, you find the sale is over and you have missed out.

Now that I'm in my 40's...
Not being able to just leap out of bed in the morning and instantly feel 100% physically fine. I'm in pretty good shape and look after myself, but it takes a while now to loosen up first thing, and there's always a niggle of some kind or another.

I've not felt that way since I was 15. ¬_¬

I have literally never felt that way. Takes me ages to get going in the morning, never want to wake up, and I don't ever feel well-rested, no matter how much or how little sleep I get. Rubbish.
