The Room 102 thread - for things you love or just having a bloody good praise!

Best thing I've seen on Twitter all year, just a beautiful story:

Nice that there are places where something like that can happen. If someone tried it round here, they’d probably end up with a discarded kebab box in the garden.

Passed my final (ever) exam and, pending hitting qualifying hours, will be a chartered accountant in August!

Congratulations to you Tommy

Cheers! It's a very unusual time to sit down and do a full-day exam (or any exam really). Software that screenshares what you're doing on the computer and a webcam pointed at you throughout the day but no indication anybody is watching. So if you nip off for a piss, you're literally looking at your screen and declaring to a stranger (or nobody) that you're going to the toilet and will be back shortly.
It also throws up red flags if you access the internet (browsers or e-mails). Think I accidentally opened Outlook about five times while trying to click Word. Again, apologising to a laptop is odd. Anyway, last time I'll ever have to do that!
Put 3k steps in from pacing about the house 6-9am on Friday before they released results.

Mate that sounds draconian to the point where I'd say "nah" to the whole shebang. Kudos on getting through it intact. I think the only comparison I can think of are the full day art Gcses that some mates did in school.
Re: The Room 102 thread - for things you love or just having a bloody good praise!
God i hated my Art GCSE in the mid-90s. By halfway through the day I just got bored of it and my work in the afternoon suffered as a result. Ended up getting a B for it when I was actually pretty shit-hot the rest of the time and was predicted an A.

It's weird too because (probably due to my mates taking the piss) I'd started to get a chip on my shoulder about still having exams at 27. Not that there's anything wrong with it but it does make you conscious that everybody else who followed the 'normal' route is 3 years younger.

Probably a bit of a controversial one.
Whisky.
I moved to Edinburgh over 2 years ago. As you can imagine, I have been plied with whisky at every social gathering ever since. Some objectively terrible, some widely acclaimed.
I've never rejected one. I almost did the very first time I was asked by a stranger in a pub who my new flatmate and I had befriended whether 'I have a dram', but realised you have to sample the local produce. But I don't understand how long I have to drink it before I understand what's so great about it. And what's more, I only feel safe saying this while I'm in England, and behind a keyboard; they take it incredibly seriously!
I accidentally ordered two bottles instead of one when I drunkenly did part of my Christmas shopping. Rather than return it or give it to somebody else I thought I'd keep it, since it's 'good', and see if I can get what all the fuss is about. Nothing so far.

Possibly the wrong thread, Tommy!
But I do love a bit of whisky, although cognac has become my go-to spirit in recent years.

I tend to go through phases of what alcohol I enjoy. At the moment I'm on wine, in the past I've gone through phases of fancy G&Ts, mid-range whiskies, white beers and so on. Currently I can't stomach the idea of neat spirits; they don't last long enough and I can't really enjoy them with food as I find them too strong to compliment it.

I am not a fan of whisky but I do like a nice bourbon.

Had a glass of wine with my Christmas dinner and had a wee lie down after. Woke up over 3 hours later, apparently I'm not used to wine
