Random Overheard Conversation Snippets

Post by Stormbringer » Thu Sep 19, 2019 9:44 am

Something I find very funny (and I might be alone, as usual ¬_¬) is overheard conversations. It always seems to be a single sound-bite, rather than an entire conversation.

Today's was between two women who look like they're around 25-30:

Woman 1: "So they said a little bit of meat might actually be good for, y'know...women. So I was like, "Oooh! ( :o ) Maybe I've been doing this all wrong?!"

I was standing behind them, holding a bread-roll with two sausages and two slices of bacon in it. ¬_¬

On Bill Bailey's latest stand-up show he mentions how he overheard a couple walking down the street say "There's that puddle I was telling you about."

We had the pleasure of seeing Bill Bailey do a live set at our local theatre during his tour a year or two ago, was hilarious.

Many moons ago my sister was on a bus where she overheard a chav of some kind very loudly on the phone tell his mate how he'd like to bump someone off in sheer graphic detail. "so I was thinking break both his legs with the sledgehammer first.."

Worlds worst criminal, it was at bloody rush hour on a crowded bus.

If someone asks another person on the phone a loud question I tend to just say my response to them as if they'd asked me directy. If you're going to have a public conversation, I say make it proper public :)

I was on the train and this American chap was chatting to his girlfriend over speakerphone. Annoying as fuck as you can imagine. She obviously didn't know she was on speaker as she started talking about how her constipation was getting worse, you never saw someone fumble so fast with his phone 😆 Plenty of snickering in train carriage after that. Twat.

Hardly overheard as it was two lads yelling at each other in the street, quite the heated argument.
All came to an end with my favourite threat of all time, lad number one points his finger in lad number two's face and says "I'm going to forget your face", before turning round and stalking off.
Only in Canada....

Overheard the other day:

"I still don't see what sausages have to do with it."

As I walked toward a corner of a wall on the way to work, two men came around the corner and said in gruff Scottish accents:

MAN 1:
"They bought 'im a guitar, right, but it's pink! Ah dinnae ken if 'e'll like that, y'ken?"

MAN 2: "Right".
