The contents of one of the home testing kits (with the barcodes hidden to protect the innocent). About as exciting as you'd imagine.

It involves shoving a cotton bud up your nose, which is about as pleasant as you'd imagine.

Looks familiar! The nose thing isn't much fun, having to swab your tonsils as well is worse, though.

Yeah. I have a strong gag reflex (sometimes triggered just by brushing my back teeth), so I can't say I enjoyed it much. My nose didn't stop running for 20 minutes after the nose portion either.

It's Lando's Millennium Falcon from the X-Wing Miniatures game, without the Escape Pod attached.

So my test results were negative, which is nice. Better still is that my company still insist on staying off for the full 14 days, so I've got an extra week and I can apparently leave the house. I'm still going to limit my exposure to others; I managed to get a Sainsburys delivery on saturday so there's nothing I really need groceries-wise, and I'm planning on resuming my 5am walks that I started a few weeks back. I just think it's a bit suspicious that my housemate and I both came down with the same symptoms (her test was also negative); our house is too small to properly socially distance, but I don't recall one of us making the other ill before even when I've had pretty awful flu symptoms.

Maybe it's just me but why the fuck do people flock to the beach at the slightest hint of the sun? Screaming kids, everyone packed arsehole to elbow, some Edwin playing loud music, seagulls... Sounds like hell even without the pandemic.

Quite. Crowded beaches with no shade on a scalding hot day are one of my visions of hell.

Are public toilets even open yet?

I just don't get it, why, why, why? The last place I want to be, amidst this pandemic, before an even greater scale phase 2, is near masses of other people......where are they shitting ffs?

Not surprising news given the weather and people's general attitudes. Social distancing is none existent in my city anymore. Some people are wearing masks but they just don't get it that they can't stand 30cm away from me in a queue.

It's going to be absolute pandemonium when the pubs reopen. Boris has already said that the lockdown has been relaxed because he expects people to use good old "British common sense", so they're already geared up to blame it on the public when we have a huge second wave.
