Aaaand the MET is asking to effectively censor the Gray report.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-60166997

Shock bloody horror. I'd say the speed dial button for Cressida Dick on Johnson's phone must be looking particularly worn, but let's be honest, with how incompetent the man is he's presumably been photographed going to her house for drinks.

"Dick Favours Balls-Up to Ease Pressure on Arsehole"...?

I don't know why we go on about a lack of transparency in politics when it's absolutely clear as day what's going on.

What absolute nonsense. Why bother saying they don't mind if the report is released if they then go back and claim that they need to censor the bits about the partying, which funnily enough is the subject matter of the entire report.

This is a total stitch up.

And if this couldn't get any more open to ridicule, Number 10 now apparently can't agree on whether there was cake at a birthday party.
No 10 says it cannot comment on whether there was a cake
No 10 says it cannot comment on whether or not there was a cake at a birthday celebration for the prime minister.

Minister Conor Burns previously said Boris Johnson had been "ambushed with a cake" at a surprise birthday gathering in the Cabinet room on 19 June 2020 - when social events indoors were banned.

But Burns later told the Telegraph's political podcast he had been told "under some authority" there actually was not a cake.

However, an old article from the Times on 20 June 2020 has resurfaced reporting that the group "tucked into a Union Jack cake".

A spokesman for Boris Johnson says: "So you will know what we said earlier this week on the matter, that a small number of staff briefly came into the Cabinet Room on the PM's birthday.

"Beyond that I can't comment further ahead of any conclusion of the investigation."
I can't say I'm completely surprised that these people think that what was served at the party is really the pertinent issue.

So Gray's initial report has been published, and she makes direct comment about her not being able to say anything meaningful. What she does mention is a few gatherings that were not of a scale suitable for police investigation, including one that happened in the PM's private flat, not the government office. Let's see you spin that one as a work meeting you sack of crap.

So latest thing is that Johnson has accused Starmer of failing to prosecute Jimmy Savile (which has been shown to be false by fact-checking services), and Dominic Raab and other prominent Tories are slamming him for it.

He has to go soon, surely?

You'd think after inciting a violent mob to attack the opposition leader he'd have the good grace to apologise and retract what he said (which was shown to be grossly inaccurate and unfair), but no, apparently doubling-down and pretending you said something else is the order of the day.

I can't wait for the day he's hounded from office, I can't actually believe he's still clinging on.
