Commandos: Origins

Anybody else giving this a go? Still working through the tutorial but it feels very much like the Commandos games of old, to the point where it could have been made 15 years ago. Enjoying it so far, though something tells me there's going to be some hefty jank.

Looks like it's on Game Pass too (I bought it on Steam).

I downloaded on Game Pass, but started to see a lot of negative feedback on Steam so I put off starting it, sounds like it might be a case of slapping the Commandos name on a janky product and hoping for the best.

I've read that quicksave can often cause bugs in certain scenarios, like when you have a commando suspended from a wire/pole etc.

I fancy it as Commandos 2 is an all time favourite of mine, but I can certainly wait.

How's the music? Nothing I've seen features epic music, and no reviews mention it at all. It was a hallmark of the series for me!

I’ll be honest, the music was distractingly awful and I turned it off almost immediately.

Hearing some of the issues with saving, I think I might give it a few weeks until it’s stabilised with patches.

I've still to play through Shadow Tactics someday, so maybe that will just have to do.
