I read RDR2 was 'only' 99Gb on consoles, so not sure how they've managed to add an entire Witcher 3 effectively for the PC release.DjchunKfunK wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 8:33 amWitcher 3 was also graphically impressive and whilst the world wasn't quite as big it was only around 50gbs.

Well, my friend in the US has a 980Mbit connection whereas the best I can get is 220Mbit, so y'know… swings and roundabouts. Also doubt he has a data cap at all – are you thinking about mobile?Achtung Englander wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 8:58 amits a good thing we do not have data caps in the UK. In the US where data caps is a thing, this must be a nightmare to manage. For a country that prides itself on competition, their internet is run by only a few corporate giants.

Probably uncompressed audio and higher resolution textures.Sly Boots wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 9:22 amI read RDR2 was 'only' 99Gb on consoles, so not sure how they've managed to add an entire Witcher 3 effectively for the PC release.DjchunKfunK wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 8:33 amWitcher 3 was also graphically impressive and whilst the world wasn't quite as big it was only around 50gbs.

No data caps on broadband are a big issue in the US as is the fact that companies have monopolies in states so you often don't get a choice about who you get broadband through.Drarok wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 11:45 amWell, my friend in the US has a 980Mbit connection whereas the best I can get is 220Mbit, so y'know… swings and roundabouts. yeah this whole data cap thing in the US is what I gathered from US YouTube bloggers who go on about it a lot. I think you live in the centre of the US you are kind of screwed. If your friend lives in either NY or LA - that is not America. An American told me that. I suppose its the same here. London is not the UK.
Games playing : Bioshock (Remastered) / Total War Britannia / Dirt 4

I'd love to have a mammoth PC to play this on maximum settings. Even the base PS4 version was mesmerisingly beautiful. I can't see anything toppling it off my all time favorite game spot and time soon.

I am with you there WoO, although my recently upgraded PC (RTX2080) should make it look spectacular, it is still stunning on the base PS4 that I own.Wizard Of Odd wrote: ↑Thu Oct 31, 2019 8:13 pmI'd love to have a mammoth PC to play this on maximum settings. Pre-load is available for any canaries that pre-ordered, my M2 drive is currently creaking as the colossus invades it!

Well that was a short-lived pleasure. Decrypted the game, hit play - "the rockstar launcher has encountered an unexpected error" and crashes. Tried the troubleshooting tips and...nothing. Checked twitter and I am far from alone!
Ah well, that's my evening's entertainment fucked, thanks R*...
