On PC Wrathbone? Do it! And of course hook me up to do so. Itching to posse up with some TGA-ers!

Played for a few hours yesterday and finally got out of the mountains. This game is gorgeous, you tend to forget that when everything is just covered in snow. Currently just puttering about the camp checking stuff out before I go exploring. Have I missed the chance to grab that Arabian stallion btw?

No, it's always there.

In fact, it also respawns, as I discovered yesterday when my faithful steed Ghost got killed when I went to investigate a random event, which turned out to be two guys trying to blow up a safe with dynamite. There were no survivors :(

Ghost 2.0 was shortly tamed, though, and hopefully lasts a bit longer.

Often when you punch a horse (there are quite a few contextual buttons and you do get confused time to time) the horse responds by kicking you into the middle of next week

Xbox One X. I'm sure the PC one looks even better, but on the X it's pretty amazing.

The Steam version of this game doesn't force you to install and log in through the Rockstar client does it?

Bugger, was hoping to avoid that. The updates for that client broke my copy of GTA V so badly that I had to uninstall the whole game, it just got caught in a constant loop of needing to patch and the download failing to install.

Hopefully this won't be an issue as all the updates will come through Steam instead? I'll soon find out as I now own the PC version!

Pretty sure it's exactly the same. You just start it through Steam but then it's all Rockstar gubbins.

I've not had any issues with the R* launcher, for what it's worth.

Kinda put this away over the past week or so, not sure why. Had a lot of fun at first, but gradually seemed to lose interest.

No issues with the launcher in itself, did fail to get into my account though and the password recovery didn't work. Called up a support ticket and didn't get a response. Got impatient and made a new account because I wanted to play Online with friends so now I have separate Rockstar accounts for GTAV and Red Dead.

The game itself runs like a dream on PC. Auto detected mostly to Ultra and runs at a silky smooth locked 60fps makes a world of difference in how clunky it feels compared with the PS4 version. The multiplayer is great, so much better developed than GTAV Online even if the social system is a little janky at times.

Spent 9 hours yesterday just hunting people and animals in my posse, knocked a few of the main MP quests on the head and reached level 12. Absolutely loving it. The atmosphere when you're out in the woods at night hunting animals with the moonrays providing little illumination cutting through the trees is just amazing.
