What's with seemingly every game or TV trailer these days employing a cover singer with heavy distortion?

It's the new plinky-plonky melancholic piano.

After buying Black Flag, Origins and Odyssey and not getting along with any of them, I'm determined to not buy this one. I'm with Alan - for reasons I haven't yet pinpointed, I get really bored with them really fast. They're so lifeless! They're like an economy-size tub of vanilla ice cream that's had a few sprinkles tossed at it to make you think it's more exciting than it is.

Always fancied trying Syndicate because of the setting so I figured I’d give it a go. Fired up uplay and I seem to also own Origins. I’m pretty sure I never bought it, it wasn’tan epic and I don’t think it was ever a humble was it?

Not that I should care if it’s something for nothing but it’s bugging me how!

Origins was also part of a Humble Monthly before it went all shit. That's where I got it.

May 2019. I just checked.

Origins is pretty good. I had a lot of fun just exploring randomly because the setting is very nicely done. Unfortunately by the time I got half way in I was getting very tired of the standard Ubisoft deal with highly repetitive, dull side quests.

It is a prime example of copy/paste open world game mechanics though. Towers to reveal the map, mindlessly following waypoints, drone mechanics to scout things from the air and paint targets on your map.

I might well be day 1 on this, I like me some AssCreed, the last two have been a blast, and I love the Viking era historically (though I know they will fuck it up).
