Wow the Mafia 2 remaster is rough, in some instances it looks straight up worse. They have changed NPC faces completely and they look terrible by comparison and in some areas they have depopulated the world in order to reduce the amount of work need to remaster it.
I don't really care about cut scenes, I am more interested if the world building during gameplay looks better. From the small amount I saw nothing too special.

I think I actually prefer the original - better shading, less contrast

That doesn't bode well for the remasters does it? The original in most of those videos looks better. I'm hoping the first game is a massive upgrade to the engine, I won't trust those screenshots until there's actual footage of the game running.

On a side note, according to that article they are working on a new title as well, whether it's Mafia 4 or something new is unknown.

I'll take whatever they give, loved all 3 of them, played them to bits. Might reinstall #2 and replay...

So after turning on my Xbox, Mafia 3 started a 7Gb update. Its now Mafia 3 Definitive Edition. Apart from the opening title screens I'm not sure whats changed. I had the complete edition beforehand so maybe if you had the standard version it now gives you all the DLC. Anyone else had a look yet?

After a few seconds of research....

Mafia III: Definitive Edition add-on content includes three story expansions that integrate seamlessly with and greatly enhance the base game.

Faster, Baby!
Stones Unturned
Sign of the Times

It does add the DLC then.

Oh dear, reviews for Mafia 2 Remastered aren't very encouraging. Glitchy frame rate, pop ins, bad sound and ugly graphics seem to be main issues. Couple of reviews recommend just playing the original with graphic mods as it's done better.

Hopefully the Mafia remaster has actually had some real effort put into it. Will definitely be waiting on reviews before buying.

I did download Mafia 2 Remastered the other day, but haven't got round to playing it yet. Will report back when I do.

That looks amazing I must say. Seems they've redone all the voice acting as well.

Which specific views were those?

We've covered it before on here:

Basically a year or two ago his videos started to include rants against things like featuring women in war games (can't remember if it was a CoD or Battlefield, but one of those), things being anti-white or anti-male, basically he's far-right, racist, sexist pondlife.

Ugh. Turns out I'd missed that thread all this time, only for its rot to get me in the end Final Destination-stylee.
