The reveal for the new Battlefield game is out next week. Other than a very short trailer announcing the announcement there's been very little info about the game.

It's almost certainly set in modern or near future times. One of the directors of the most recent COD game has just been put in charge of development so I'm not exactly sure what direction they're going with it. Not the one COD is going in anyway..

Hoping it's just going to be a fun game again with lots of crazy shit and epic tomfuckery.

No mechs no sale!

Well it might be called Battlefield 2042 so mechs could be an option. A futuristic shooter with involvement of a CoD developer, that doesn't sound very promising

Anywho the official announcement is around 5pm today.

The leaked trailer shows a robot dog like that weird Boston Dynamics one so that's in there.

This might be day one (or boxing day psn sale) for me.

128 players, new specialist characters and finally the ability to customise your weapon on the fly.

I will pass sadly, tentative sessions on BF1 and then more recently on BF5 have hammered home that I no longer have the reflexes for games like this and I have no patience with being insta-gibbed over and over.

The best times I ever had in battlefield was the close combat expansion in 3. 128 players sounds like a nightmare!

If it has minimap on hardcore though…. I’d be tempted….

Also why do player counts increase like ram? 8, 16, 32, 64, 128….

Not keen on the idea of hero units or it launching immediately with season passes and all that other gubbins.

Maybe if it were free to play.

Nothing there that really gets me excited. Shame as I would like a new online shooter to play.

one thing is for sure. 64 players on each side = zero strategy and a complete free for all
