Super super early pre-production dev builds on show, nothing polished. Mostly it's just looking at higher res dark corridors whilst the various presenters go on about how much they love the original. Bit of a damp squib of a presentation.

I think they announced this way too early if they haven't even got past pre-production on it yet.

they really want fan input and I am sure it will come down to - don't fuck it up with microtransactions or anything stupid that is modern day gaming. Just re-do the story, improve the gameplay. Done.

Having never tried the original I'd give it a crack depending on review feedback.

I kinda was, now I'm kinda not. The thing is, I love the first game, the second one is great too, and it still holds up incredibly well.

Remakes rarely excite, or please, me. The only exception that I can think of is the RE2 remake, but given the fact that there was a 21 year gap and massive leaps in generational tech between the original and the remake, it was always in with a better chance of being more interesting to me. There's always something lost in the translation from old to new, but it was its own experience.

On the other hand, Oddworld New 'n' Tasty left me utterly cold. I love the first two games in that series, and I still enjoy their gameplay today. That art, although very pixelated now, is still stunning and the whole thing drips with atmosphere. The remake lost so much of that feeling for me. So I guess sometimes the time between the games doesn't always work in its favour.

I'd be interested in The Last Of Us remake at some point down the line purely because I'll get to play it on PC - my old ps4 kicked the bucket.

I dunno, remakes: just not as interesting as a new experience.

I'm more looking forward to the Callisto Protocol.

With both games having such a close release window I can see only a die hard fan choosing the DS remake over Protocol, even so only to experience something they are familiar with done in a one shot style like God of War and delivering no loading screens. These are kind of the real big sell, not just the updated graphical fidelity.

Personally I want something completely fresh and as much as I love Dead Space I will be going firmly with Protocol first and foremost. Hate to bring it up but after how EA treated the IP Visceral and Glen Schofield he very much deserves every bit of recognition and success possible with this new studio venture and every person who loves Dead Space should be right there behind him.

I'm a big fan of the series, I even enjoyed DS3. But I'll be waiting for these to go on sale in the future before getting them. I'm much more interested in Callisto Protocol simply because it looks amazing.

Wasn't Issac pretty much mute in the original Dead Space? He seems pretty yappy in the the new trailers.

Agreed on the price, especially considering there are now rumours it will also come to the PS4 platform so its not even a current-gen/pc only affair.

This is out on Friday, please live up to the hype!

I didn't realize that new areas had been added between the different parts of the ship and that the tram system is now just for fast travelling.

Still probably wait for a price drop though.

It's getting 8's and 9/10 on some of the reviews I've checked.
