Gloomhaven - 1.0 released

Post by Sly Boots » Thu Oct 21, 2021 7:08 am

I bought this way, way back when the EA first launched, played enough of it to know I liked it, then set it aside for the next two years as I didn't want to spoil it for myself before the full release.

Well, it looks like those initial impressions have been proven correct and the devs have nailed it:

Looking forward to playing more of this, and if anyone else here ends up getting it would be up for trying a co-op game :)

I've started a few co-op campaigns on it during pre-release and found it very entertaining. Exactly the kind of laid back, turn based tactical style that I've been in the mood for lately, and very well presented too.

Apparently it's a very faithful adaptation of the board game too.

Played it a bit today, the first two campaign missions kicked my ass the first time (exhausted all my cards before the end), but got them on the second attempt. It's good. Maybe the sort of game where you play a mission at a time rather than have an extended session, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
