The Callisto Protocol PC
A true reimagined Dead Space style experience by the looks of it. December 2nd.
Building the future, and keeping the past alive - are one and the same thing.

That looks great. Several of the people from the Dead Space series are involved as well, plus it's out this year.

It's what I'm most eager to try this year. Dead Space 1 and 2 are up their with my top games.

That Half-Life 2-esque gravity gun looks fun.

Re: The Callisto Protocol PC
I'm yet to complete Resident Evil 7 and RE2 remakes, horror titles are somehow always such a temptation, at the same time I'd rather not have a heart attack trying to inch my way through slamming the menu button and quitting out when it all gets too much suddenly. With this being such a Dead Space clone, that temptation is at an all-time high - I did eventually finish 1 and 2 and loved both experiences.
Hard to believe it's been almost ten years to the very month since even Dead Space 3 first released, and what do you know we have had no really good sci-fi horror titles since yet come December and January we are getting two of them in Protocol and the Dead Space remake respectively. That's nothing if not a result.

Re: The Callisto Protocol PC
So I was looking at the cost of this game. On Xbox it's β¬80 for the bog standard digital copy, that goes up to β¬90 for some deluxe shite. Boxed copy from a shop is β¬50...what?
Re: The Callisto Protocol PC
Apparently this runs like an absolute dog on PC.

https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/the-ca ... col-reviewSometimes when we get sent review code for a game, the PR will say that they'll be getting PC code later, but if we want we can have a console code so we can get a head start playing the game. There are a lot of reasons that might happen, but I'll be honest: it's never a great sign. I'm usually pretty chillaxed about the occasional wonky animation or frame stuttering when a game runs, but in this case The Callisto Protocol runs so badly on PC that if it were my child and the coach wasn't putting it in to play football - even as a sub in the last five minutes, you know, just to give it a go, like - I'd be saying, "Yeah, bench the sucker, I get it."
The stuttering and slowing down whenever anything moves is especially problematic in a horror game where your survival depends on quickly dodge-reacting to sudden threats. So I can't, right now, recommend you get The Callisto Protocol on PC. If Striking Distance get it running properly? Eh. Maybe.

Re: The Callisto Protocol PC
Looks amazing, but...
.Terrible PC performance
.Combat broken
.Hardly any story
."One of the worst boss battles I've ever experienced"
.A long walk down a corridor with no exploration or puzzles
Jesus that is massively disappointing
