CoD: MW2 (2022)

Post by Drarok » Tue Sep 20, 2022 7:10 pm

Following on from 2020's Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (aka CoDBlOpsCW aka cod-blops-coo!) and 2021's Vanguard, the disaster of naming that is Call of Duty continues with Modern Warfare 2. Again. The previous one was 2009, so not even that long ago!

It seems like a pretty beefy update though in terms of game modes and new mechanics like swimming (ooh!) and shooting-mid-air (ahh!), and I have really enjoyed some of the previous ones…

But holy shit, CoDBlOpsCW was a disgracefully buggy mess and would regularly crash to desktop in the middle of the PvE Zombies mode, which eventually killed all enthusiasm me and my friends had for it since – at least once per game – at least one of us would crash and lose our progress. Hopefully their multi-studio dice roll lands on a winner this time.

And that's the story of why I'm not allowed near pregnant women for the next few weeks.

Downloading the beta now. No idea why as I'll be insta killed by dolphin diving youths every 5 seconds.

Played a couple of games and uninstalled. The time to kill in the game is ridiculous, you have no chance to react if you run into another player. I'm just too old and don't have the reaction times anymore, that and it was very boring to play.

You've probably been a bit hasty there, but the TTK is very fast, but aren't all CoDs? Run and gun is the name of the game, death has basically no consequence.

I found my first few matches ridiculously one-sided, but it quickly figured out how shit I am and started matching me with less sweaty lobbies. I'm having fun, at least. :D

It does skill based lobbies doesn't it? Might have been a bit hasty alright, it would have put at the very bottom of the pile then. It just didn't really appeal to me anyway. I believe the kids are calling it "sweaty" these days, games where everyone is just going balls out to win.

What games are you playing where people are trying to lose? 🤔 😬
